I did French for 3 years (year 7-9), when it came to choosing GCSE options it was the first thing to go. I hated French, not only did the teacher pick on me but I don't pick up languages easily -which is ironic since my mum can fluently speak 4 languages and my dad 2- so I'm free of it for the rest of my life thank god.

I've taken it for 11 years (since kindergarten) and can speak it fluently. I don't mind it, but it isn't my favourite subject. I find it a pretty easy class and ill probably continue it until the end of high school.

I'm francophone, I was in a francophone school for 7 years (kindergarten to grade 6), then in junior high I am now in french immersion in grade 8. You really should try, it's a great asset to have because you get better chances with getting into good university programs. It's way easier to travel if you know many languages. It's a pretty easy subject (although not my favourite). For you, it may even get easier than other classes. Anyways, I hope this helps you!

During my spare time I try to read up and try to learn bits and pieces of French, but sadly free time doesn't come very often and I haven't invested serious time in learning French. But I assure everyone that learning a language to a sorta-functional level by your own and just in your spare time can be done, without a tutor (that's how I sorta-learned Japanese, I'm working on trying to learn French now.) :)

I do French, I enjoy it, I'm going to take it as one of my options, I'm quite fluent and me and a girl in my class speak it better than the rest of the class but sometimes she asks me for help at times so yeah.

I'm in my fourth year and LOVE it. I've picked it up pretty well from the start. I find it incredibly easy, and it's fun to learn a new language.

That's the thing, in my opinion, French is similar to english and spanish on some words.

Took it in 7th grade as the second chosen language, with Spanish, but decided to take the Spanish path.

French is awful. Just awful. Nothing similar to English. Yet English was based of of French...hmm...

Anyways, I took French last year and Spanish this year and Spanish is 100x better.

English is based off of French and German. Really, despite German sounding rough, it would be one of the easier languages for Native-English speakers to learn since English is a Germanic language.

Given my background in Spanish, I've been doing quite well with French and it's extremely similar to Spanish and, to an extent, English.

I love French! I've been studying it since kindergarten, although my accent is terrible. But I have had really good French teachers, so that helps.

I started taking French lessons in November, and I love it. :)

I think it's fairly easy to learn, and it's definitely useful for me, since go to France every summer.

Yes started last year, but I like English and Latin more. I find French very difficult, I would love to learn Danish or so.
