Now I am going to ask a question here. Who can point out which part of the bible says its wrong to be gay. Hmmm? I seriously doubt that most 'good' christians can tell me the answer to my question, now I was brought up Catholic yet all of my family immediate to distant relative, have no problem with homosexuality. It seems to me its the few who miss interperit the bible that are against gays. Am I right?

I believe there is one thing in the bible, saying that man was supposed to be with woman, but rules are meant to be broken right? Anyways, im a christian and support gays, because i like to see people happy, and since it doesnt have any effect on me, i dont mind them being gay.

Why can't all christians be like you? and it say that true enough but it dosnt say man is NOT supposed to be with man right? I thank you for being a good christian. The defination of christian. Anyways if it does go against men being with men it dosnt say that all followers of god should try to distroy their lifes. So I say to all the homophobes in the world FUCK OFF! and leave MY life alone

Hi! Great question! I am a christain and have some answers. Let me first say this though. I beilieve that yes it is wrong to be homosexual. How ever having said that, it is a sin. All sins are equal. Being gay is the same as lying to your parents in my minds eye. So yes I do Beilieve that it is a sin and that it should not be done, but I would not persucute them. They are just like anyone else. Here are a few verses:
Levitcus 18:22 You (Moses) shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination.
Romans 1:27 ...Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity.
In the early Christian Church there were those who, at one time in their life, had lived a gay lifestyle. (1 Corinthians 6:9) Even so, when they turned to God in repentance through faith in Christ Jesus, God forgave them their sin, and adopted them into His family (1 Corinthians 6:11; John 1:12); the same is true today.

LateForTheSky: Erm, I'm not entirely sure who you are really directing this rant to. Is it towards Christians, or homophobics? If its towards Christians, well, I think theonetheycallbob answered you question fairly well. Also, be more careful when you say things like...
Hmmm? I seriously doubt that most 'good' christians can tell me the answer to my question,
I mean, that's not very nice... You're sort of making the assumption that most "Good" (I'm not sure what you're basing that on either) Christians cannot properly interprete or have not read the Bible.
Progamer: On the contrary, rules were not meant to be broken, only to keep people civilized.
I myself am a Christian, but it's not the reason I don't particularly like homosexuals. I simply think it's unnatural. A man and a woman's genitals fit perfectly together, whereas a man and a man/woman and a woman's do not. Generally I have no problem with them but I'm not a fan of overly flamboyant folks.

You made a lot of valid points I was directing this at christians because MOST (But not all) christians are the ones who homophobic yet I know a lot of them arn't, like my family for instance.
I said most 'Good' christians that was wrong but most 'Good' people are christians cant point that section out to me, and most certainly dont know it off by heart. I was a bit out of order but I had to have my rant but at the same time u said u dont like the flamboyant type. I am COMPLETELY gay and not atall flamboyant. Sounds like you based that on the stereotype never good idea you anger a lot of people doing this. But thanks for the contribution.
Now I dont have a problem with religion disagreeing with my lifestyle all I want is a fair start in life and not to be persucuted by those who should know better. Murderers get a fair trial in court, gays should get a fair try at life. Don't you think?

Yeah and you anger alot of religious people with this. Maybe not anger more upset because to me your wording just seems hostile.. Though I am not Christian I belive in God.. And I can analyze so yeah, in fact alot of these debates always seem hostile towards religion to me.. But yeah I liked bob's post, it atleast did what you asked
EDIT: LateForTheSky my comments about hostility.. Were more meant for your original post or just for all the people who are in somewhat.. Hostile to religion

I wasn't even suggesting that excuses it. But yeah there will be things everyone comes across life that will be unfair. It's the truth. We all deserve a fair chance at life but in reality no one has a fair chance at life. We all face disadvantages and battles, not just singled out groups.

Everyone should be treated fairly, everyone should have access to clean drinking water, everyone should be given a chance to succed. But the world we live in combined with human nature stops that from happening.
This isn't a fair a world. Never has, never will be.
I respect people who are against homosexuality based on their beliefs, may not agree but it is their belief so I respect it in the hope they will respect what I believe in.

1: What stereotype? I never said all gay people are like this, because, of course, they aren't. It's only the ones who are that annoy me. Also, might I remind us all that there is a little bit of truth behind every 'stereotype'.
2: Persecute is a strong word buddy. >_>;

I reacted like because of your choice of words and by the way theres not always a little bit of truth in a stereotype im walking proof of it. I used that example because it was very extreme and i really wanted to get my point accross. I never pussy foot around the subject im always str8 in. (lol now a gay person would never say it LIKE that)

Well the fact ur not christian and can point that out shows ur not in the least bit ignorant. I like people like that, I have said my peace on this subject all I want RELIGOUS people not just christian people to do is leave us alone. We didn't hurt anyone we do what feels comfortable with one another and to be quite frank I find it quite offensive for them to come into my life and tell me im wrong. Its got nothing to do with them, I just want to beable to live my life in peace and if my sins catch up on me when I die then so be it. I am not going to change who I am, I repeat I am NOT going to change who I am.
One thing I would like to add tho is, Jesus/God did NOT write the bible its the scripters take on the teachings. So I would find it quite humerous that christians go to so much effort to make our lifes hell when theres no real evidence to prove that this in fact what god said. Now I am sure u will say yeah but its faith not proven fact, Now i dont know about u but I am not going to lead a miserable life because somebody elses faith thinks I am wrong. I am tired of being made to feel guilty by religion I am tired of hearing another person has been murdered because their gay. What people dont relise is that its racism, I never had the choice of being gay, str8 or bi. Just like a black man didnt get to decide which colour of skin he has. Like a sperm cell and an egg didnt get to decideif they were making a boy or a girl. We are all diffrent and thats that, I am not going to stand back and listen to these people abolish my name. You sure are implying that your supposed misery is solely due to religious people and the Bible. Just sayin. The title itself is implying that you are viewing it as a 2-sided battle: Homosexuals vs CHRISTIANS.
Now, in response to your original post. The following are passages from the Bible used to argue against homosexuality:
You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. Lev. 18:22
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. Lev. 20:13
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator - Who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Rom 1:18-27
These are just a few of many.

As for where the bible says that homosexuality is a sin is...
According to my bible, Leviticus 18:22
"No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that."
Though, later in the Bible, Jesus said to disregard many things that are in Leviticus. These are things such as eating certain animals with is a distinguishing factor betweens Jews and Christians.

Indeed, it is believed that the reason for the New Testament was to nullify the Old Testament. If you look through there are some crazy things in there, like women who cheat on their husbands should be stoned to death. When the New Testament was written, God granted us mercy.

Haha you don't know anything about me therefore you shouldn't judge or make assumptions. My sexuality doesn't define me so I don't need to boast it out everywhere and make it apart of everything I say.
There's nothing wrong with wanting change but you need to realize that conflicting and bashing isn't going to do anything, it just makes it worst. For society to change it happens overtime. I mean generations. You may want to be able to come out without being persecuted but if you're going to bash the religious beliefs of others it's not going to make it better.
I'm not telling you to mold and do nothing but you should change your perspective and tactic. Bashing one side and making a complete rivalry isn't the way to do it.

Fair dews bashing is not the way to go about it but i only has really bad in my original post which people keep refering too. I was having a rant then because of something that happened to me that made me VERY angery after that i tried to be as fair as possible and the reason i was bashing their views on gays is because the keep trying to change me (Specific people not religion as a whole) I want change and I know it will probably not happen in my lifetime but I AM going to do my bit and I will let people know it. Religion publicly shows it views so thats what i am doing. religion put gays down for years i am simply doing the same thing and people dont like it well news to u, I will not sit back and take all the shite the bible has to say with a pinch of salt. I will treat others as they treat me and see all those religous bible bashers oh theres that word agian bashers I will make ur life hell as u done to me. Fair dews bashing is not the way to go about it but i only has really bad in my original post which people keep refering too. I was having a rant then because of something that happened to me that made me VERY angery after that i tried to be as fair as possible and the reason i was bashing their views on gays is because the keep trying to change me (Specific people not religion as a whole)
From now on if you want to rant go to the White Padded Room. This forum isn't for ranting. Just so you know.

If you're going to make their lives hell and go out of your way for it, then don't be suprised when they retaliate. Like I said, something has to give. For your sake you should live your life and let people believe what they want At the end of the day it's your life and revolving it around other people is a terrible way of wasting it.

Not be suprised when they retaliate? I thought i was the one retaliating. And I dont see it as a waste I just see it as gettin my point accross since they are so intent on getting theres accross. After all deabeting has got us no where. Although my 1st post was a rant the rest was my point of view, and i left it wide open for people to debate. I said i will make their life hell i didnt mean on VT, I dont care about it on VT as I can ignore them but in real life its somewhat different

What I mean is if you retaliate they will right back at you and for what it's worth there's no point in doing it. What exaclty is to be gained by making their life hell? You aren't any better than them.

U get to the point that u dont care whats right and wrong anymore its all live and let die. Revenge is something i dont often care about but this i feel real bitter about. I am sorry but i have lost any desire to debate on who is right and who is wrong on this matter i know what i am going to do and thats that

You never had any desire to debate anything to begin with. You had one singular purpose and that was to blame all of your problems on Christians. Period.

What a very poor thing to do. If you can't defend what you feel is right maybe it's time to open your mind and think about what you are trying to accomplish. You are being very hypocritical to close your mind and say well that's that. That is in fact what a lot of people against homosexuality do. "The Bible says it's wrong and it's unnatural. So I'm going to believe what I believe and that's that." You can't expect people to open their minds if you don't do it yourself. It's hypocritical.

I did not blame ALL my problems on them but one of the most substancial problem in my life is down to them (in MY situation, where i live, who i see day to day) And as i said above thats what my 1ST post was meant to mean not the rest read over it again. And dont u dare Period me.

I am trying to accomplish a level ground, an eye for and eye witever u want to call it. Its not my usual means of doing things but on this subject i insist on it.

Ok then you're no better than them. Basically all you're saying is "Do as I say, not as I do." You can't be taken seriously if you don't practice what you preach. Don't expect much mediation with that kind of attitude when dealing with these kinds of people.

As a matter of fact, I will DARE to do as I so choose thank YOU very much.
Now I dont have a problem with religion disagreeing with my lifestyle all I want is a fair start in life and not to be persucuted by those who should know better. Murderers get a fair trial in court, gays should get a fair try at life. Don't you think?
Yes my misery is solely due to religous people
Well in truth everyone i have told is not homophobic thats why i told them but it drives me mad when u hear it off people all the time

You are biased, hypocritical, close-minded, and irrational. You complain about people unjustly 'persecuting' you, even though you admit the only 'persecution' you've heard of is from other people whereas you deal with normal assholes that everyone has to deal with in life for some reason or another. And then you expect the world to be better for you because you're gonna treat other people like crap just because there are those assholes out in the world. Are you serious?
