My honest opinion? You're overthinking a lot of stuff. You're thinking about what you might possibly be feeling and what you think is a possibility of this and that and the other, and really you're confusing yourself. Just talk to them as a friend, as "pen pals" like you said before. Talk to them about normal, everyday things like you've been doing, and don't try to pursue things and push them any further than they already are. Because, honestly, I think that you've convinced yourself you're crushing on them when, in reality, you may not really be. And even if you were, you even said you want to keep being friends, so do that. Don't make it out to be more complicated than it needs to be hun.
