I was just trying to figure out how long I have to wait before I can change my username. It was a pain in the butt... I was just wondering if putting in a --Days Until Username Change would be possible. Like always. If its too much of a hassle then don't sweat it!

you've never changed your name so you're fine to change it, i think. but that would be convenient

It seems pretty unneeded as if you really wanted to know then you could private message an admin and they'd tell you. It would be pretty much simple as that. While I can see it being somewhat useful it isn't really something that is needed.

It's every 180 days, if I'm correct. You used to have to ask an admin to change it, but that was a pain.

Meh. It would be useful, but I don't know how easy it would be to implement.

You still can too, depending on the circumstances/relationship with the staff.

I don't think this is pressing enough to justify the addition, but it isn't a bad idea.

I really like this idea, though I don't know if it's possible to add.

I really like the idea too; but unfortunately I too don't think it is possible to add. I looked for a bit for add-ons that would let us do that but I didn't find one. If anybody else wants to look as well you're more than welcome -- if one is found I would definitely be open to consideration.

After changing it I think you get 180 days(6 months) until you can change it again

I don't see why you just can't add a new column to the user table, such as userncdate, and then when they change their name, it sets the userncdate to the current date/time + 180 days. Then, you just use the strtotime function in PHP which will auto-insert the date/time from the user row. After finishing that, make it echo a short statement saying something like, "You have xxx days and xxx minutes until your next name change is available".

Couldn't you just..write down the day you changed your name, keep it somewhere you know it will be, and when you want to know when you can change it again, add 180 days to that?

I think this thread sums it up fairly well. And it looks like Adam has already posted in there. So if you'd like to get a new name change, just do a little math and add 180 days. Not hard at all.
Granted, new members probably wouldn't know about this thread, but I think that if you've been on the site for a few months, then you'd probably come across this particular thread in the Arcade section. And anyway, the 6-month rule doesn't apply to new members (who've never had a name change before), correct? And if it does, then you go by your date that you joined, which can be found on your profile in the mini statistics.
