You can buy little shrug/shawl things that are worn specifically with dresses. I don't know what type of shops you have in Australia but nearly everywhere does them, it's just a thin piece of material that goes over your shoulders and arms, I suggest you look them up and see if that's what you're looking for. It's probably your best bet if you can go out and get one in the next couple of days.

Edit: Something like this (http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/tops/black-3-4-sleeve-shrug_245763701), you can get different colours.

It's ok. Unfortunately, I'm male so I will generally fail at attempting to provide advice to females who have problems with dressing styles.

However, if I have a scar, I tend to cover it with a gargantuan T - shirt, yes, it makes me look like a complete douche, but it's how it goes for me. However, scars like the ones on my knee, completely repress my dignity as wearing jeans all day long kind of sucks. I there's nothing you can do about it, just wear the dress. Chances are, your family will be too "hypnotized" by the awesome shit on your dress to note your scars.

And besides, there is nothing to be embarrassed about. There are tons of scars on our faces(we call that pores), which, we have grown to express openly, despite the fact. Why? Because people think it's really stupid to spend 5 whole hours staring at a scar.

You'll be fine, just dress with what you want. That's advice from me right there.

Tell your niece that while they sleep, you go out onto the night and fight dragons like a boss.

You obtained your scars after fighting an eight ton dragon that was going to end the world on the 21st December.

Liquid cover-up is great. Just pick some up at the pharmacy. Revlon works best for me but it really depends on your skin. Try a few different ones and see what works for you. hope it helps :)
