I am a 14 year old girl going into year 10, and I like a 12 year old boy going into year 7. I am pretty sure he likes me too. I want to go out with him but there is some problems. One, the age gap, two, I have never been out with anyone before. Three, well what if we break up? I think he Is the sort of person I would want a long term relationship with, I like him that much. Should we just stay friends until we are older? What are your thoughts?

In my oPinion it would be ok if you guys dated just you wouldn't be able to have sex and if ou did you wouldn't be able to tell anybody bEcause depending on your laws where u live 16 is normally the legal age of consent. Don't feel bad I'm 19 turning 20 in 2 months and my boyfriend is a year and nine months younger than me
If its what you feel you wanna do go ahead it would t hurt to try
Good luck

I dont see a prob with you two being friends. chillin and going places together. not sure if either of you know each other well enough yet to worry about being bf & gf. be best to stay friends and see how / where things go as you older

Im 14 and i've dated a 12 year old boy before, (well kinda different though since im a dude lol), and i don't think theres anything wrong with it, if you like him, and he likes you back, then you should go out with him.

Its not bad, he is less than 2 years younger than you, the fact is, is that u started school early, do u go to the same school? If you do go ahead and ask him out, if not I recommend you should be bffs until he comes to your school, if that won't work out then just ask him out, tbh with you kids aren't the most understanding of relationships so it may look bad that a girl is asking out a boy who goes to a school for younger kids

Has he hit puberty yet? You're already in it, should be if the age brackets are still as they were a few years ago. He should be starting it real soon if he hasn't. Two years as teenagers isn't the same as two years as adults. And he's still a pre-teen.
If you were 12, would you date a 10 year old? You two are in different playing levels as to how your brain is setting up and developed thus far, more so apparent with girls of older age than boys.
If you really want to date him, that's what you will do. But I see it in his best interest and your's too, if you just stay friends.

I would recommend taking things slow and casual.

i don't think it's necessarily the age gap, but how mature he is, or the lack of maturity you have. Do you really think a year 7 would be in it for the long haul? I know when i was that age i couldn't stay with someone for more than a week. Just think about it.

I don't see a problem with it.. My boyfriend was 18 when I was 15. It just depends on the people's maturity.

I think you two should just remain friends. Much too young for a serious relationship in my opinion. A 10th grader can be in a serious relationship but I don't think a 7th grader can. Both of you should avoid a serious relationship-p and remain friends. If you're looking for a serious relationship look for people around your age.
