The title says it. I am just thinking about maybe getting a piercing, and wanted to know what you guys think the best, hottest, or cutest type of piercing is. I was thinking maybe an industrial or a normal lobe.

Personally... I dont think any guy can pull of pierced ears. Long hair, different story, not every guy can but some can and they look bad with short hair. But since you want one, industrial.

It's your own choice do what you think it's the best.
I've pierced my both ears with the "lobe"

In a way, piercing yourself is like a risky attempt to "sacrifice" a portion of your skin, and replace it with a piece of decoration that may or may not be worth the sacrifice.
It's risky and it boils down to whether it will look good on you. I say you think hard over this and visualize it yourself.

if you pierce the "lobe" and you don't like it you can remove it and the skin will grow back so it's like it was before it got pierced.

If they want to, of course they should. A huge number of my male friends have at least one lobe pierced.
I would go normal lobe before anything else, get a feel of the experience, how to look after jewelry, how to clean it etc.
Industrial is technically two piercings, and in cartilage, which can be painful, and is definitely more painful than a normal lobe piercing. The top of your ear will be "held in place" by the bar, so any kind of knock will be knocking both pierced holes, which can hurt. My friend had her cartilage pierced and slightly banging it was still painful a good two years after getting it.
Be careful though, industrial can be more risky than others. With the knocking, getting snagged etc, there's also higher risk of infection. My friend got hers done, and it got infected, she got very ill and had to go to hospital, and actually get small parts of her ear removed because of it.
You should get whatever ear piercings you want, but I recommend getting a traditional lobe piercing first. And try not to go to a hair dresser or dodgy/cheap store, go somewhere that has qualified piercers that can use a needles because it will benefits you a whole lot more than a general beautician who had a one day course how to use a piercing gun.
Needle is less painful, quicker healing time, less chance of infection. The gun stings like motherfucker, actually tears the skin instead of piercing it, and takes longer to heal due to the damage.
Don't let this scare you, just be aware. Happy piercing.

Personally I think guys with ears pierced is very unattractive.

Scaffolding/Industrial looks awesome on guys. Personally the most attractive thing on a guy is piercings but that's just me. You'll always have different opinions about it, that goes for piercings on girls as well.

My boyfriend has only his left lobe pierced, and I looove it. That's just my personal taste.
Guys with one ear pierced, look best in small studs. A hoop of any kind makes me envision pirates. With both ears pierced, small studs and small hoops look nice.

I love guys with stretched lobes. Industrial ones are pretty damn cool too.

I don't think people should get extreme piercing. But you do what you want.

I think it depends a lot on the guy. I know a lot of guys that look good with their ears pierced, but like, if my brother or my boyfriend got theirs pierced anywhere, it would just look silly haha. So yeah, I think it depends. But, I would go with the normal lobe just because as someone else said, it's more practical for a first time piercing.

since i know i look awesome with long hair, golden blonde shoulder length hair, i also know i would look even more awesome with a diamond stud lobe, one ear only.

actually, it will never fully heal. there will always be a small hole. no matter where it is. i have a family friend, who had a lobe earning when he was in high school and university, he doesn't have it any more, but you can still see the hole if you look closely. only way to "heal it" would be plastic surgery

It does heal. You still have a scar from it, but there's no hole, it's closed up, especially if he takes it out before the piercing heals. I've had my second holes done for a year now, and I didn't put earrings in for about a month and in that short time, after they'd fully healed, I still had to break through the skin at the back to put earrings in. Fresh piercings will heal much faster.

yea, fresh piercings heal, but after having them for a long time, +10 years, they don't fully heal.

Yes they do. Cartilage might not, I don't know. But a lobe piercing will heal entirely. Just because you can still see it doesn't mean it isn't healed. It's called a scar. -_-

Yeah, I don't think piercings would suit me. If that's what you like, and you want to do, then go ahead.

If someone, whether it be a guy or girl, wants their ears pierced, why not?

No, you got it backwards.
Lobe piercings, done well, heal to a scar that's a tube and doesn't (usually) heal over. It can SHRINK to a useless size, but it's generally there.
Cartilage piercings generally heal over after awhile, time dependent on the person. Scars may or may not be noticeable.

Ohhh boy does it.
i got industrial pierced in August and had to get it taken out in October (migration)
Painful As Hell. I was lightheaded for the rest of the day and couldn't sleep on that side at all until just before it ended up coming out.
[it was pierced at the wrong angle, i'm getting it re-done next fall]
tbh? I have both ears double pierced, bottom lobe now at 12g, and it's fine.
Get what you like, it's *ears* it's not like it's super obvious or job-impairing (unless you work food service)

I am a fan of transverse lobe piercing, it looks sexy to me. But, as I know these aren't all ear piercings there are. Here you are a list of ear piercings (http://www.typesofearpiercings.net/) that aren't on your picture, maybe you'll find some there?

It's your body, do what you want with it!
I have both my lobes double pierced, along with my lip and both my… we'll. my nipples. Of course I'm very fond of piercings and tattoos.
anyhow, give it a try. If you don't like it, it'll grow back.
Keep it simple, start off with a single piercing in one (or both) of your lobes and go from there.

I've had my ears gauged to a half inch, but took them out. Personally I like body mods, but it's really a personal preference.
