For pubes, I have found that shaving from side to side causes less irritation than going from bottom to top.

use a new/sharp razor shaving cream or gel. shave down which is the way the hair grows then you can shave up or side to side to get rid of the stubble. then use stick deodorant to take care of any irratation or itchies.
