Is it? If so, then how?

You cannot delete them yourself, no.

Instead, click the "report" icon on the Original Post (the one that looks like a danger icon," and a moderator will delete it for you. :)

Yep, Steven is right.

Also, a mod will probably only delete an entire thread, if it's entire purpose is trolling.

Otherwise, you can just edit out the title, and thread description with "...." or something like that, and report the thread, and say you want it locked ( so the thread is closed, and nobody else can post in it, besides mods and admins ).

Actually, if a member requests their entire thread deleted, it will be done regardless of whether someone else posted in it. That's something we've always allowed.

You can't actually edit the title of the thread unless you're a moderator. If you edit the first post title, it will only edit the title above the post, not the title of the thread. The thread will continue to have the same name in the forum unless a moderator has changed it.

I think you can still edit the thread of the title of you've just posted the thread....I may be wrong though...

You might be able to. I just tried now with one of my threads and nothing seemed to have happened. And I know that in the past I had to ask to change the title of my signature shop too, because I couldn't do it myself.

That should be correct. This can only be done from the relevant subforum index page, not by editing the first post in the thread. You need to position your cursor immediately to the right of the thread title text, just to the right of the last character in the title, and double-click. It's a bit like having sex - it's hard to hit the spot if you haven't done it before :D

I think their is a time limit. I think you can only change the name of your title within a set time limit. After that to have the title edited out then you'd need to contact a moderator. However really, who would need to go as far as editing out the title. I'd just report the thread and ask for it to be deleted.
