So it's a pet peeve when someone brags about having abs, yet they're super skinny. For me personally, I think you should only brag about having abs, if you have a good, athletic body. Not a skinny, twig like body.
If someone weighs a good 150-160 lb and brags about having abs, that's something that is brag worthy. Not if you 120 lb and have abs. Anyone can have abs if they're skinny enough...
What's your opinion?

Yeah i can see where that would get annoying, but i would like to point out that just because there skinny does not mean they cant be athletic....i swim alot and work out for my swim time and i have a 6 pac, even though i am skinny my abs are more defined than just a skinny kid that does not work out.

i dnt know why you would brag about having a 6-pack, sure there is nothing wrong being proud of the body that you've shaped, but brag about it just seems weird.
when it comes to the skinny guys abs etc i don't care less about them showing of their body, they might be proud they managed eat less and lose enough bodymass to get some defeniton.
if someone want to impress me they can either show a well built body not just some abs, or real dedication to improve their health and results.
i mean put the skinny abs guy next a person who acctually works out the entire body properly and he will not be to quick to brag

Yeah if you expect respect just for having abs, you're missing the point of working out. Some guys have to work really hard for abs because they naturally carry more body fat. If you're a light build but you work out so you've got tone and fitness and abs that's different. If you don't work out and just have a skinny pack because puberty has left you with a very low bmi (which isn't that unusual in teenage boys) AND you think you're all that, you're going to get laughed at if you ever visit a gym.
Having said that, I personally don't have respect for the guys with huge arms and shoulders, huge bellies and toothpick legs. If they spent less time on vanity muscles and more work on aerobics and core they would look better overall and also have more useful real life strength. Being able to curl a few more kilos than the next guy doesn't really count for much if you have back bewbs.

5'9 and 95lb and I get all the babes with my awesome six pack. JK. I do give respect to the skinny kids that go to the gym though, but not the ones that don't and still have abs they just don't work for it.

I'd love to see some of these "skinny packs" lift 200 pounds off the floor to over head!
They'd break in half right at the "skinny pack"! lol

Yeah good point and I totally agree - I respect any shape person who turns up and put the time in to improve their health and fitness, especially the very skinny or very fat ones. If they stick with then that's impressive to me. Its the ones who do strange things just for vanity and miss the 'heath and fitness' point who bug me.

I somewhat agree too. But still I hate when they brag about it. If they're like "I do have abs, but I'm going to the gym to improve my physique" that's something I respect.
Also, I think abs look terrible if someone does have descent pecs, but of course it looks even better when they're whole body looks good including lower body.

Not true, depending on their body structure (small bones, or small in general) and if they started out with no abs and worked to it, then yeah I think that's impressive and noteworthy, not brag worthy. If they're an absolute twig with ribs and collarbone popping out and brag about that without doing any work, then no, that's just stupid. You shouldn't brag about anything really, but that's how I look at it.

Exactly!
Some people do nothing and get pretty nice physique. I'm on the other side of things. I've trained on and off for the last 3 years, suffering a few injuries. What's important to me is that I feel healthier in general, and having that get-go and confidence from being fit definitely fulfills me more than having jaw-dropping physique would :)

Like me: over the last 5 weeks I have lost 8lbs-160-152 from just dieting and for the first time can feel the vertical gap between my abs.

abs are made in the kitchen..of course you can form them - obliques and all that stuff, but if abs is the only showing muscle it's awful lol
