Fallout New Vegas

So what's your thoughts on this game? I'm starting to consider it, but theirs one thing holding me back, is it a scary game? I know that sounds stupid and weird, but some games I cannot play alone. Games like Resident Evil I wouldn't play alone. Also, is New Vegas' map big? Is it a really entertaining game? Can you compare this game to others outside of the Fallout series?

The game is not scary at all Iv'e played it numerous times. The best I can kinda compare the came to is Red Dead Redemption and Oblivion. And yes the area is quite big, I like the game better than Fallout 3 because you can modify guns.
