I need opinions

So this girl I've known her for about 3 years and just recently we've gotten closer. She talks to me about some of her personal problems, and every once in a while she will says things like "I'm so slow" etc. I'll compliment her when she says things like that an she will give a smile. We joke around and laugh during class. She sometimes acts nervous around me and she will now approach me more often before I had to start the conversation and now most of the time she the one starting it.
Does she like me? Or am I just in the friend zone?
I have genuine feelings for her but I don't want to have false hopes.

The only sure fire way to know is too ask or for her to tell you.

These things could be because she just realizes you're a cool friend, or a nice guy she might want to date. It could go either way.

Since things have changed, I recommend you telling her how you feel. Get those feelings off your chest, and then she has that information, and she can do with it what she likes, like possibly date you. :)

Tell her lots of nice things you think about her, but don't make any up in an attempt to flatter her, just say exactly what you mean. :)

And if she doesn't want to date you, don't hold it against her.

Don't wait for her to say "You're such a good friend!" if you want to be with her, make it happen!

Its probably impossible for you to know if she likes you or not; you'll have to ask her

I'd start with something more flirtatious than what you've already done. A signal to show that you like her (not verbally) will be a great indication that you're interested. Go from there.
