A lump

So, during the past 2 days I have felt that my scrotum has been rather sore. As I was taking a shower a few hours ago, I felt around and have felt a lump, It is visible as it kinda sticks out from the skin.
This has been happening at random times for a few weeks/months now.

Can you help me with it? The conventional 'go to the doctor' isn't really any help to me as I will probably be going their within the next week. Just want to know what to expect as an answer.

Well, the way I see it, it may be a few things, depending on what you mean by a lump and where the lump is. If the lump is on your scrotum itself--and not inside of it--then it may just be something as minor as a skin irritation. If the lump you're feeling is inside, though, on one of your testicles, it may be something you want to get checked out. You've said you're going to the doctor in a few days anyway, so I would just go ahead and ask him about it when you're there if it's still pertinent. If it's a skin irritation it may clear itself up by then.

maybe it is just a benign lump, he will do the usual cough and roll, if you are going mainly for the lump expect him to do a lot of touching and feeling down there

Quite often teenagers will get a lump/spot type thing on the outside of there scrotum. It usually clears up within a short to moderate period of time. However if like Nortier said, if it is inside then you might want to mention it to the doctor you are going to see in a few days.
