Population clock

There should be in some obvious place on VT, like the forums display or as a link from the homepage, a population clock that shows the most recent number of VT members.

There is. You'll notice it at the bottom of the forums.

Scroll down towards the bottom of the forum index and you'll notice all of the site's stats.
