I've been on Cypralex for a couple of months and the side-effects are really affecting my every day life and causing some problems (sexually and otherwise) and I don't know what to do.. I can't stop taking it because that's really dangerous, but I'm kind of afraid of talking to my doctor about switching meds because the reasons are kind of awkward to discuss. My doctor is pretty old, and I'd really rather not talk about things like that with her..
What should I do?

talk to your doctor about it, that is the only way. Im sure one possibly awkward conversation is better then the negative side effects you are experiencing and a lot better then stopping taking the medication and having even worse adverse effects. Remember, it is their job to help you and be one hundred percent professional about it. They are a doctor, they have seen and heard a lot worse, embarrassing things then you could possibly imagine. If you are worried about them talking to your parents they cant tell anyone anything without your permission under doctor patient confidentiality laws. Be safe, talk to your doctor ASAP.

Honestly, lovely, if the side effects are affecting you that much, you're going to have to discuss it with your doctor. That's what she is there for, it's not going to be awkward or embarrassing to her, she's used to it, it's her job, she'll just want to help you. If you don't talk about it, you'll be stuck on them and have to keep experiencing these side effects. A couple of uncomfortable minutes will solve your uncomfortable problems that you'd have to deal with for the rest of the duration that you're on the meds otherwise.
