I'm a christian too, but I don't think that masturbation is wrong. You need to think about it on a larger scale; why would God give us such an intense desire for sex, and then forbid the only way (masturbation) for us to remain pure untill marriage. I don't think he would condemn a person for doing it, he's much more worried about other REAL sins!

There are a lot of Christians on here that would agree, I think. I mean, in Catholicism they call it a waste of seed, but if you DON'T masturbate, you'll ejaculate it all in a wet dream ANYWAY. So there is no credibility with that option there.

And don't get me started on Onanism. The theory was that Onan was killed by God for masturbating, but that isn't true. If you actually pay attention to the ENTIRE story, you'll see that Onan was supposed to get his sister in law pregnant (don't ask, wierd laws back then), but he "pulled out" at the last second and did not impregnate her. So he was really just killed for going against God's will...

Phew!! I hope that was enough for you. I really hope that you won't worry about this too much anymore (I was once as worried as you untill I did my research), but it all comes down to what you personally believe; it's your relationship with God we're talking about here, not the Church's. :D

well, it will be hard to stop, you will get more frequent random boners, will get more impure thoughts and will get frustrated more, the only real way to stop, if you wanna stop is just, dont do it, and maybe take up another hobby to do when you get the urge

i am a christian as well and i masturbate. the only way i can think of that would make it a sin would be if you masturbated thinking of someone else if you already had a girlfriend/boyfriend because that could be seen as cheating as defined in the bible. so unless you do that i can't think of any reason why you shouldn't masturbate if you want to.

Im a Christian too, I used to feel bad about it and thought it was wrong but I dont feel that way anymore. I do it all the time lol, so does every other guy though, its almost impossible to stop. I think you shouldnt worry about it.

Everyone masturbates, it's a normal activity. Stopping might be very difficult, indeed.

I'd suggest that you speak with your priest, seek counsel with him. He might be more forgiving about this than you think, and maybe even more than you are yourself.
