Ok, this is my opinion about communism:
Communism a very good movement, since it made rich people which are not that many to be equal with the working class by confiscating their property and sharing it with the poor. Many of those rich people were very bad towards their workers and paid them very small sums for a lot of work. The real problem with communism came when the leaders got obsessed with power and started carrying out purges. In my country, communism was not as harsh as in the USSR (no insane purges, and political enemies went to jail for some time, no one really complained, since it was very good, only people who complained were the ones which wanted more money then they needed), there was plenty of food, pays were better then the ones today, believe me or not. Now working in government institutions (doctor, judge, policeman, fireman, sanitation worker) nets you 750 euros maximum (sanitation workers get 200 euros max) monthly, in Germany for example, you get paid 5-6 times more. While during the communism era, people earned 3 times more, and all goods in stores were a lot cheaper.

Yeah it depends what kind of communism, how hardcore it is, I know socialism is different to communism but I prefer socialism.

I don't know what to say about this, I think it's a rather sensitive subject. Where I come from communism was very strict. Indeed, people had money and jobs were guaranteed but the shops were poor and barely have enough food for everyone. No one could leave the country, propaganda was everywhere and people could easily go to jail just by disagreeing to their superiors. It was a really harsh period.
I believe communism is not really the best solution and I'm glad it was erased in most of the countries that were under its domination.

Yugoslavia, huh?
Unfortunately, many people say Yugoslavia was better to live in, but that was because EVERYWHERE was better to live in during the 70s/80s, our lands were in Yugoslavia at the time, so people understand that differently.
Unfortunately it's impossible to keep a communist system running, we've seen what happened during the second half of the 80's in all the countries living under a red flag...

In my opinion it's one of the more easily abused forms of government. Given a majority fall into turmoil under a dictator that often creates its own branch, the definition of communism has been skewed in modern day. Maoism is now its own term, though North Korea is commonly identified as Communistic. Not having a structure, in my opinion, leaves too much elbow room for dominance and control over the people.
It's not a government I could ever live under.

I think communism works well in theory, but in practice it always fails. While it has potential, extreme communism just doesn't work. The government inevitably falls apart and the people suffer.

I personally am Pro-Wealthy. Hurting them and their businesses does nothing but hurt the economy, because many of the wealthy own huge businesses. But I do believe the workers should be protected. I believe it's wrong when people try to make the wealthy equal, financially speaking. Like when the government takes the wealth of the wealthy. That I believe is wrong. I personally believe that everyone, of all classes, should have equal tax rates.
The thing I hate though, is that people say how they hate how everything is so expensive, well, a lot of things are cheap because those companies go over seas where they can pay less. If we were to make that illegal, those $20 jeans would become $50+ jeans because they have to pay their workers more. But as I've already said, the workers deserve rights too. Not forced healthcare (for those working 30+ hours a week), but basic human rights. Like I hate how Obama was/is trying to force people to get health insurance, or how he's forcing companies to provide healthcare for employees who work 30+ hours a week, all that does is hike up the prices of that companies products (which will compensate the healthcare they're being forced to pay).
But personally, I believe that the media should be regulated a little more (which I believe is communistic trait).

In theory, it works really well, but humans are greedy, so it doesn't work in real life. If everyone is giving the same amount of stuff, nobody would be motivated to work. It's also hard to make everyone equal. People have different backgrounds and cultures, erasing that is impossible.

in theory, original marxist communism could be amazing.
but weve yet to see anyone pull it off.

Other than the whole violent overthrowing of the bourgeois part, Marxism communism actually wouldn't be that bad. At least on the small scale like it was intended. The problem is that people think that communism is a form of government, when it's exactly the opposite.
