i've been a cutter for almost 6 years now. i've been cut free for a few months but i'm slowly slipping back into my old habits. scratching has been a good friend for a while. i've been getting professional help since i was 6 but nothing seems to help. so i just wanted to ask, what helps for you guys??? thanks...

I don't know about everyone else, but writing used to help me alot. For me, it was a great way to just let everything go, and also a way of expression.

I hope you can continue you're streak of being cut-free. It's a really good thing, hold on to it as tight as you can.

um, i was a cutter for 5years and ive been cut free for however long it says in my sig,
what i've foudn helped me is first off gettign rid of all my familier blades in my room, so i would have nothing to cut with, i would cry alot, and i hae acted sad whenever i feel it. believe me it helps. cuz i found one of the reason i cutted was because i could never be myself and jsut be unhappy. i had to put on an act etc so i got home and just went mental on myself.
i just had to learn to be myself.

for me, I got rid of all my razors, just rolled them up in this old rag that I would clean up the blood when it gets all dry and threw it in the dumpster the night before the trash people came to pick it up to make sure I wouldn't go back and get them. At first it was like super hard not to just like go get a knife or something from the the silverware drawer when I got an urge to cut or see blood, I would talk to my friends online and the thing that really helped, it may sound wierd, but it really works at least for me. I'll sing my favorite song in my head over and over and over as loud as I can so I can't think of anything else and that'll work for me. Just do that and talk to a friend or one of us who can help you and talk you through it.
