Help d: (usb wont work)

Sorry for caps, im just really annoyed atm :L So anyway , heres my problem.

I have a windows vista atm, my laptop main got broken >:L So anyway, i cant use USBs. It says i need software driver or soemthing. From my research ive gathered that I need some download thing. The thing is i dont know what D: Please help meeee

What's not working exactly? The USB port or the peripheral you are plugging in?

Well they both work, but I need some kind of software to be able to access the USB..

Maybe it would help if you posted a screenshot of any message you get when you plug in the USB.

If it is asking for drivers, you either need to let it go hunt the internet for them, or find the manufacturers website for your device and download them yourself. If you need help with that, post any writing (manufacturer, model etc ) from your device you can see.

It should install it automatically when you plug it in.

What are you trying to connect through USB? Can you post screenshots of what you see?

I'm gonna assume it's a printer because those are notorious for producing random errors and never working. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the driver for your model.

What I believe you are trying to say is that a device you have is not running on your computer and is connected via USB. If so, Google the device with the word "driver" after it. Install the driver and then it should work. Best of luck.

Oh, and try and make sure it's from the manufacturer's website. If not, cnet is pretty reliable.
