In the middle of my time of the month again. I was wondering if anyone else has pain as bad as I do.

Every now and again I'll have a period where there's no pain at all and I am able tp carry on as normal but sometimes (like at the moment) the pain gets so bad it drives me to tears. I could be bedridden for days on end during a bad one. Then there's the constant nausea which sometimes culminates in me refusing the leave the toilet bowl for hours. I take pain killers, of course, but they don't really work unless I know it's coming and because I'm slightly irregular it's difficult, plus I always start at night, so I end up waking up in pain. Then there's the fact that I don't want to take them too often, for a couple of days every month is extremely excessive.

Funnily enough, I was fine for the first few years, I started when I was 15. I'm 18 now, and the bad ones have only started in the last year or so. I don't want to take anything prescribed but I have gone to the doctor and there's nothing medically wrong with me just bad luck. It's not even in the genes as I asked my mother and her pains could could be wiped out with kiddy pain killers.

How bad is everyone else's Mother Nature's Monthly Gift? xP

Mine sucks! I'm 14 and I've had it since I was 11. My parents won't let me take ANYTHING for the pain. They actually hide all the meds so I can't take them. My friends have to bring stuff to school for me. I just get really bad cramps to the point where I can't move at all. They have been bad enough that I cried. So yeah I would say pain wise we're about equal. I don't get nauseaous unless I eat a lot of greasy food.

My period itself has gotten into a regular routine (finally, thank god), but the pains.. Not so much. My pains are always different. Sometimes I won't have pains at all and I'll glide through the week, others I'll curl up in a ball for hours because all the muscles feel so tight, or I feel like I ate something bad.

Other times, I'll get one of the two listed above for the whole month that I'm not on my period. It'll be in reverse. My period itself will be the relief, not it ending. It's ridiculous. In saying this though, I'm pretty much pain free 60% - 70% of the time.

Hot water bottles help, resting it where it hurts can help relax the muscles a bit, and I know there are stretches/yoga poses that can help relive them as well (though I haven't tried them myself, I believe they'd work as I've used stretches to relive other muscle pain before). Also, drink lots of water, like 2+ liters a day. That can help too, it's beneficial to overall health too, so the only con is having to pee a lot.
