There are charity events being organised at school to raise money for a partner school in Uganda, there is pressure from the teachers to not only participate, (which I don't mind) but also I may have to financially contribute myself which is hypocritical since money is tight as it is at home so any added expenditure is just annoying. Yet I'll probaly be judged and treated like a selfish bastard otherwise. Bitches at times my school.
Apologies for cursing but it's true. People fail to realise that everybody isn't able to contribute to everything and throw money around like it's toilet paper.
Anybodyelse ever been in this position or have any ideas of what to do?
Thanks

It's a tough thing to deal with Benny. I know that money is tight for you, better than most. For the teachers to try and pressure students to participate is one thing, and that's understandable. But for them to try and pressure students into financially contributing is completely unacceptable. They, of all people, should know that not everyone is able to contribute, that people come from all kinds of situations and backgrounds, and it's something they can't help. Your teachers shouldn't be doing that, they really shouldn't, and it's completely unprofessional in my book. That being said, you probably will be judged by some people for not giving money, but those people don't know your situation. Most people don't even realize that kind of shit when they judge people. I'm sorry Benny, I really am.
