How happy are you? Do you enjoy being gay? Would you rather be straight if it were possible to change your sexual orientation?

If society didn't make such a big deal of it, then I'd be indifferent. Unfortunately that is not the case, so I would much rather be straight at the moment. Too bad.

I'm 13 and I like being gay. To me that's like asking a straight guy if he likes being straight. That's unfair i know and I guess it's different rules but i wouldn't change.

being gay is not a choice....it is who you are....and yes I like WHO i am and being gay is part of me....I totally agree with Robin in the fact that is is like asking a straight guy if he likes to be straight....it is just who he is....society is the villain here telling it is wrong to be gay.....

This isn't puberty related.

I'll move this to a more relevant section: Puberty for Boys :arrow2: Teen Sexuality

If you had asked me this question a few months back I would of said no, I was damn near suicidal worrying about coming out and if I'd ever find a guy. Now I have came out to the people that matter (close friend and parents) and I'm in a relationship with a guy that I loved for years but never told I couldn't be happier being gay!

I LOVE being gay, I think it opens an entire new way of thinking and looking at things! Also I think that being gay has made me more accepting of others and their choices/ beliefs. If I could change my sexuality I wouldn't!

Neither like nor dislike, it's just who I am.

I'm bi, but I am happy with myself. If you aren't, don't blame others for YOUR own problems.

I voted under I don't like or dislike being gay but after reading this I feel pretty similar. I don't know who I would be if I wasn't gay. Maybe close-minded and homophobic. ewww lol

I feel like there are so many problems that I wouldn't have to deal with if I weren't. I feel like I have to hide who I am, I am so scared of being criticized that I often keep to myself and people don't know anything about me or even know who I am at all.

Life would be a lot easier if I was straight, but I love being gay :)

I don't like or dislike it, it is just who I am. There is nothing I can do to change it so it doesn't bother me, although sometimes, of course, I wish I was straight just because of the acceptance however its who I am so I have to just stay strong.

I like it. Of course it would be easier to be straight like everybody else, but then I wouldn't be me. It's a part of who I am and I wouldn't change that, I love guys and their bums too much for that :D

believe it or not, it is sorta hard to be gay in taiwan....
because if gay people here have to be very careful about everything they do, or they say in fear that others will hear or know something.

Feel nearly the same way. Except that Im not necessarily happy with myself but not because I'm bi.

I voted under I dislike being gay.

Truth be told, I don't like being gay, but alas, you have to live with the cards you are dealt. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate myself at all and I am more than comfortable with my sexuality. I suppose it's more that I can't stand the stereotypes and the negative connotations that come along with being gay. I have yet to come across a person who hated me or stopped being my friend/liking me because I was gay, but I have come across many people who stereotype me. They think because I am gay I like shopping, I am feminine, etc. I can't stand that because that is not who I am.

If being gay was a choice and I could choose between gay or straight, would I choose to be straight? Possibly... But I can't. So that is irrelevant really. But like I said, I am more than comfortable being gay. There are things I like about it and things I hate about it. I used to have a hard time accepting it, but embrace it now and I enjoy it to the fullest. But I would categorize myself under "I don't like being gay."

Why is "Being gay is a chance" even an option?

I hate being gay.

This is my stance on it as well. I feel like it would be easier to be straight, for obvious reasons; but this is who I am and there isn't anything I can do to change that. It's a part of me and I'm okay with it.

I'm not gay, but I am indeed bisexual. Society (and even some of the people I've told) don't actually believe that I'm bi, but hey, it's who I am. I just roll with it and don't fuss about it. If they want to believe I'm "Straight but curious" or "gay but not wanting to admit it," that's their problem.
