OK first: mods if you think this shouldn't be here move it too my diary (The Swamp) I person think its a debate and belongs here. Secondly this is not a gun control debate this is for the people that except guns and don't think they are bad and don't want to ban them. Third of all. Simple question what do you think is the best pistol caliber? I personally think its .45ACP because of the massive bullet(230-260????) You get hit by a bullet that big your going down and ain't getting back up.

would not disagree on that decison, but I would say the .40 is my choice just cuz I have confidence in my gun and the amout of shooting I've done

Well, by OP's logic, the BEST caliber would be the largest caliber that can actually be fired out of a handgun, which would be some sort of rifle cartridge. :P
I'm of the opinion that it doesn't get any better than the .357 SIG, but I'm also a fan of the Para-Ordnance 14.45. Other than that gun, though, .45 is largely too bulky to be worth the trouble.

Well if we're going for capacity is go for 9MM or .357 Sig or 40 S&W
And if I want to shoot a rifle cartridge out of a pistol I can get one

5.45x39 with displaced center of gravity are really cool! I've seen what they do with a rotten stump. Almost everything inside was drilled by it. One shudders to imagine what it will do with a human.. XD Too bad they are denied and they are suitable only for small distances D:

.40 has good stoping power, and good armor penetration. I love the P99 in .40 it is a well made, well thought gun.

Yes so does mine but I'm talking more concealed carry/self defense calibers
