so a lot of you might know that i am into mountain biking, but i have always had a soft spot of skateboarding, but i can't skate :P today at lunch, i was messing around on a friends board when i remembered how to do an ollie, and well that sparked the fire to see if i can learn to skate. mountain biking is down(except downhill and dirt jumping). Friend might even give me one of his older boards.

But i want to know, how many of you skate and was it easy or hard for you to learn.

I used to skate. Learning was hard, but more because I didn't have any place to learn and as a young girl I knew that I was unwelcome at the few places where I could. Once I started learning though, I got a lot done. It's fun :D

Well I've been snowboarding for 8 years but just moved to Florida two years ago and I only get to ride about one or two weeks a year, and that's not enough board-sport for me. I use to skate when I was younger but dropped it for snowboarding, so I built a deck on Saturday and am getting back out there. It's rough right now trying to get my ollie back, I prefer having my feet strapped to the board so all I have to do is snap the tail back, but I'm having fun learning again. From what my skate friends have told me, once you get your ollie down, kickflips and other basic tricks follow fast.

well, that is true. but since i had to get rid of the board i built, i couldn't ride it. but i did get a new one for chrismas, and element complete. But yea once you get the ollie, your good. My trucks are too lose to even practice an ollie, i can't work on it and i don't have a skate tool. My friend has one though and he will tighten them next week. pics of my new board coming soon
