We all know that I'm not so good at making friends (and those of you who didn't do now.) But while I think I at least have a chance with some people, sometimes when I see someone new I can feel like for whatever reason they won't like me right off the bat.

Last year, I met a kid like this. We'll call him Trent, although that's not his real name. I never expected he'd ever talk to me, but somehow he did. We started talking more often and he was nice and I really liked him.

Fast forward to this year, I didn't see Trent around. So just the other day I messaged him on Facebook (yes, I waited from September to just the other day-- I procrastinate that much) and asked if he switched schools. He told me he did and explained that they found out he had dyslexia and he now went to a school in a neighboring city.

I must be the unluckiest person in my school. Just what are the odds of someone with no friends ever finally finding someone nice and almost making friends with them, then them finding out they have dyslexia and getting transferred to another school. Then again, I suppose it could've been me who had dyslexia so maybe I'm not that unlucky. :yeah:

In any case, I didn't make this topic to complain. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with dyslexia? Whether you have it yourself or know someone who does, and how has it affected you either way? How did you find out and how did you feel about it? Did you have to go to a different school? Tell me about it.

I never did have experience with dyslexia. But I respect your positvity in what is transpiring around you. I guess we all complain about stuff, but right down to the core, we should be just grateful we're alive, breathing and in existence.

My brother has dyslexia and he is happy in his school. He goes to a normal school. It's difficult for other people and teachers to see that he's actually clever, because he can't write stuff down that well. He mostly uses a computer with spell-check to do writing stuff. And he has trouble reading so I have to read stuff out for him
I'm sorry that your friend moved away it's so sad when that happens :(

Thanks for the insight :) Yeah it's sad, especially when he was pretty much the only friend I had :cry2:

Just talked to Trent. He's coming back next year!

It's about time something good happened to me.

Ive got pretty bad dyslexia, I go to a private school tho and read above grade level now. I mean its hard work and its pretty competitive and intense. I wouldnt say school is fun but i wouldnt trade it for anything. Remember Dyslexia is a learning difference if you work wicked hard you get strategies and it sucks less.
