My friend lost her virginity by riding a horse. Is it that easy to break a hymen?! Can doctors know that she was a virgin and she didnt have sex only her hymn got broken? Doesn't this kinda scare you, cuz it makes you not wanna ride a horse or bike in fear it would break? She also told me the blood was everywhere.

For starters, losing your virginity is defined by HAVING SEX, not breaking your hymen.

Your hymen is just a thin layer of tissue that helped to protect the vagina, and yes, it can break that easy: if you've ridden a horse or a bike, you've probably broke it, if you use tampons, you've definitely broken it, if you've fallen onto it, you've probably broke it. BUT, the hymen is NOT meant to be there forever, it is NOT a sign of purity or innocence or virginity. It is meant to be broken. It's supposed to break easy.

Lastly, there isn't always a lot of blood. For some there might be unfortunately, but that's okay, it will stop, if it doesn't, there is something abnormal so see a doctor, but others you won't even know. You could have broken it when you were 12 and horse riding. It might happen when you're 18, and trying a tampon for the first time.

The hymen is DOES NOT REPRESENT ANYTHING. IT'S JUST THERE... for a little while.

Why is it so important, to be a virgin or to be not a virgin?

your hymen can be broken from anything
doing gymnastics, riding a horse, anything like that etc.
the hymen is only a small sensitive piece of skin that covers your vaginal opening
so anything can easily stretch is and cause it to break/tear
she shouldnt be scared and as for your friend saying there was blood everywhere i can assure you she was probably overwhelmed with the situation and is being a little too over dramatic. you dont bleed severly like a period... you only bleed like getting a cut on your arm or leg. or same as when you get a new piercing and the skin bleeds. thats bascially all that should happen and if she did bleed as much as she said she should have immediately gone to see a doctor.

She did not loose her virginity, she just broke her hymen, it can happen while riding horses, sports or even masturbating. You don''t loose your virginity until you have had vagina/ pemis contact.

I'm the opposite...I think my hymen isn't broke but I'm not a virgin cuz I let a guy put it in a little bit when I was 12

I agree with the other girls, your hymen is there to protect your vagina when your very little, it stops dirt and nasty infections getting inside you when your really small. If your hymen is broken (mine is) it doesn't mean that your not a virgin (I am) coz you haven't had sex with a boy yet.
