I own three different pairs of Beats headphones. Before that I owned sub-$100 Skullcandy and the amount I listen to music, they'd break in a month or so. I can't speak for The Skullcandy Mix Master because I've never owned, or listened to music through them.
But I can speak for the Studio's though and I love them, I usually go for them over my Pro's just because of the bulk of the Pro's. Are you a DJ? Or are you just going to listen to music through them? If you're not a DJ, or someone who works around music in the studio, go with the Studio's.

I have had boths I think skull candy are cheap and I have beats Solo HD product red. They are absolutely fantastic

Beats but only because skullcandy is so crap. I had 3 pairs of them in 2 months and they broke, the sound quality was pretty shit as well. Beats have been a lot better but there are headphones with better sound quality.

If you're basing which headphones to buy solely based on how big of a fashion statement they make, then you don't deserve to have nice headphones.

Beats has a good quality when it comes to sound.

Beats have a nice look to them, but if you want REAL sound quality, go for Ultrasone hfi-780, or anything by Sennheiser.
Plus you'll save a few hundred bucks :p

I disagree. I own some and for music they are terrible compared to even a low end (£40/ $65) Sennheisers. They distort the mix as laid down by the original artist and boost the bass and upper end with a modified 'smile curve'. This happens to make them great for computer gaming as the explosions feel really meaty, but I'd rather listen to the track as the artist intended, but if you like drowning the mid range of all your tracks that's up to you. The actual sound quality isn't that great in the ones I have either.

Eww, none! I wouldn't even say they make a fashion statement anymore, with all those creepers running round with them on their necks :P
I'm all for cleaner sound and accurate sound stage, since some of my work involves audio. I'd definitely recommend AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic. For music enjoyment, Grado and Klipsch do make great alternatives.

well thats just for me, i am contented with it because i am not that techy with those expensive earphones and i only chose one over his choices. :) i just used my friend's though :)
