How do you feel about Disney buying the franchise and starting to make another movie. Personally, I'm excited as I love star wars but I'm a bit skeptical. I feel Disney may ruin it somehow

I'm excited to see what Disney does with Star Wars, I just hope that they don't completely screw it up.

Disney movies are either good and you love them or are terrible and they should be burned.
I don't know. They might pull it off but I don't want it to turn into this weird ass love thing which Disney have always done to films.
Overall I am skeptical myself. I think they will pull off a good movie and I am glad to see another SW movie being made. Just skeptical of how it might turn out.

I'm a bit skeptical, but I want them to make the movies about Grand Admiral Thrawn or the Yuuzhon Vong.

George Lucas already ruined it enough with the prequels, so even if Disney's takeover leads to even shittier films (which it won't) it won't really matter.
I'm interested to see how they turn out though. Disney is a fairly good film company.

I can't wait to see them! the idea of making more movies with cooler effects and better technolgy is pretty exciting. As long they don't forget the most important part---a great story! You need to care about these characters. something the prequels seem to forget.

Can't be much worse than the crappy prequels that Lucas spew out.

I can say that the revenge of the sith and attack of the clones were bad but the Phantom menace is my favourite

It won't be as good as the original ones. Kind of like how the 1st 3 are as good (the ones from the 90s, 00s). It'll be interesting to see though.

This is right on. They make good movies but then make too many of them and ruin it. I liked the first 3 Pirates movies but they should have stopped there. The forth was dumb and unnecessary. I imagine Star Wars will be the same.

I think it was because the first three movies were very much inter linked, the story was moving on from each movie.
The last one was more of a stand alone, it didn't have the backing of the three other movies.
They are apparently making a 5th movie.

It would be hard for Disney to ruin Star Wars anymore that Lucas already did.

Not much of a star wars fan?
I think, in all seriousness Disney could either make star wars worse or keep it on par with what it has already been.

I fucking love Star Wars, and anyone who does hates the prequel trilogy just as much, if not more, than I do. They're a stain on the franchise that retroactively made the original trilogy worse because of edits.

They will ruin the Star Wars more than Jar-Jar Binks did. It will be all about money, money, money and not about the expansion of one of the greatest sci-fi universes of all time.

Don't worry they will have Lucas edit it, and direct it, and mostly help and structer the movie. I am afraid that they might mess up, but we have to wait if our fears become valid in 2015 :/

You mean like the most recent three were?

This is what worries me. When it comes to Star Wars, it has been proven that the more involvement Lucas has in the development, the worse the movie is.

When I heard the news that Disney was making three more movies I had a slight bit of happiness and the greatest amount of rage I have felt for years.
Happiness Because:
It's Star Wars! Been a fan since I was 3, I totally Geek out on it often!
RAGE >:D Because:
All of the Fan Fiction and books that were practically accpeted as canon, will all be ruined! I mean, unless they decide to make the three movies THE Thrawn Trilogy, it will make me sad to see all the YEARS of fan-fictions go to waster :/

Fan fiction is never considered canon in Star Wars. The only canon was that written by Lucas himself which equates to the 6 movies and that's it.
There were books written about the origin of Boba Fett, but Lucas did his own thing there and that is the official story.

You're right, fan-fiction isn't canon. But are you honestly saying that nothing other than the 6 live-action films is? The expanded universe is just as canon as the films.

I just want to see where they go with the plot and also its all about who writes the screenplay. If the script is as bad as the last three Star Wars releases then the films will be awful.
At least they'll have money behind them though which is a good start, Disney payed too much for this investment to end up being another commercial disaster like John Carter.

I'm going to point out that Disney bought mavel and made Avengers the movie that set the bar for hero films . But they also have made horrible movies like John Carter if i recall but definitely toy story 3 (A franchise i otherwise love to death). So I'm just gonna wait and see

i don't even know how to talk about Star Wars. When you say "the first three movies" idk if that means the 2nd 3 movies or what. but the *original* 3 movies are really good. i'm talking about the ones before he started messing with them and adding all the extra digital stuff and turning dead darth vader into young anakin but not turning dead obi wan into young obi wan. but the jar jar binks and cutie-pie little virgin birth boy (wtf) that is supposed to end up being darth vader is when it started going bad. the only good thing about those moves was they did yoda better when he wasn't a muppet. so Disney can't do any worse only just as bad. IMO the original movies with luke and han and leia has a story with a beginning and an end. there is no reason to add anything before the beginning or after the end. whatever disney does it will have some "cute" character that they can make a toy out of or put in a happy meal

The first 3 movies means the very first three made.
Now if you mean the first 3 episodes then you would be talking the new ones that made, episode 1,episode 2 and episode 3.
After all Episode,4,5, and 6 ore the original movies made.

They can't be much worse than the prequel trilogy. I don't know, I'm on the fence here. I think that getting Star Wars away from Lucas was the right thing to do, but I'm just not sure if Disney can do something special with it. And us fans deserve something special. As amazing as the original trilogy.
Who knows, with JJ Abrams in charge, we might actually get something that's worth watching.

Star Wars fans who want more really don't have any choices. Disney is capable of doing good work. Will be interesting to see if they take a different slant on the series. Lucas had total control after the first 2 (or even after the first) movies. Disney has a board to answer to and when that happens, there is usually a movie formula that must be followed.

I only want a few things from Disney regarding Star Wars:
I. Do not halt the production on 1313.
II. Give us Knights of the Old Republic III
III. And most importantly (which seems like it will not happen) make episode VII be set on the Old Republic era, there are many things to tell about it, The Mandalorian Wars, Revan's story, Bane of the Sith, Exar Kun War, Revan again, and much more.

Disney owns Lucas films in the same way they own marvel studios and they don't ruin their movies i.e. (Or what that thing is) the avengers. So Disney owning Lucas films is not a good reason to hate it
