In spirit of the world ending in 11 days...
Do you think there will be a person out there so influential so missleading that he/she will bring destruction to the entire world?
"Will make hitler or stalin pale"
Are we capable to be that "evil"? What will happen when or if our time ends? Any end world sceneros?

That's not the question. The question was "Do you think that one person could be so evil that they could bring about the total destruction of the world?" In other words, could an anti-Christ exist.
We won't really know the answer to this question until it actually happens.

I think it's possible, but highly unlikely.

Ohh ok i get what u mean, it was kinda confusing and i couldnt answer the question really unless i think the world is gonna end in the couple of days.

At this juncture in human history, I don't think that one man can bring about the destruction of the world without being stopped by someone, or a group of people equally powerful.

Its possible, germany was one of the most if not "the" most educated country in hitlers time, this guy must be a really good speaker and everything a demagoge should be

I don't think one person would bring the total end of the world. I'm sure there could be someone worse than hitler that could cause a nuclear war or something terrible but even then it wouldn't end the world.

Maybe convince a nation and nuke the world?

If the right person got their hands on the right equipment (ie: nuclear weaponry) it would be pretty easy to do some pretty devastating damage in a short amount of time.
In 1992 soviet russia weaponized the small pox virus by deliberately enhancing the viruses capability to survive in different environments. They still have 20 tons of the virus - imagine if someone was able to get their hands on that. Sounds pretty 'anti-christ' to me.
So someone doing world wide damage is possible, but it's not very probable. The chances of someone gaining access to something as devastating as a nuclear bomb or a weaponized virus is highly unlikely.

Man is terrible and there is a little bit of your 'anti-christ' in all of us. I believe that it is possible for someone to have the malice to end the world as we know it.
I think what the OP is trying to say is that if everyone on the planet had a doomsday button i promise you at least someone would have the malice/ignorence/clumseyness to press it.
Man is evil, we ARE the end of the world as we know it and even if we dont destroy our paradise, it wont be paradise in 80 years. Get used to the idea.

Of course I think someone could. Do I think that will actually occur? No. What would have to happen is for a person to be a head of a nuclear state (that part's important, just having a nuke is not enough) that has made treaties with other nuclear states, and then instigate nuclear war with a superpower. Even then, it's a toss-up.

I'd just like to question this persons motives. I mean why would a human being want to end their life and the lives of everyone. They'd likely die too, so they aren't doing it for their own sick enjoyment. They aren't doing it for attention because there wouldn't be anyone to give them that attention. I think this is a factor that should be considered when figuring out the chances of a such a person coming along. I think it's possible, but highly improbable.

You didn't -- oh, you DID... I've been waiting for a legitimate chance to use this.
Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

There is a little monster inside us. If it consumes the entire stability and foundation of our emotions, we can call it the evil of man. Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, these people all had millions of people murdered - but their primary goal is politically motivated.
True evil, uncared and doubtful, is the matter of going through so much evil, despite the absence of gains the primary culprit receives. Edward Duncan was a man who kidnapped a girl and a boy. He had the girl sexually abused and the boy tortured to the point where he died. What did he gain? Even in such rarity, his gain would be the sexual pleasures he would receive and stimulates his inner soul. This is, evil, but not pure evil as his gains were received.
Malice and hate cannot be stable foundations to truly function into what is known as pure evil. Pure evil is driven by nothing and it is only the pleasure derived from the feeling of evil itself coming into place.
If man is capable of that, we will be driven down and over.

If man is capable of that, we will be driven down and over.
Or... we won't. Because that wouldn't make much sense.

Good job not supporting your opinion.

Humans are a curious bunch. We may fear the unknown, by default, but we also crave it. We crave to discover. And I think- because of that- the "doomsday button" would be pressed. Not out of evil, but out of curiosity.
I'd just like to question this persons motives. I mean why would a human being want to end their life and the lives of everyone.
You're assuming that this individual is thinking rationally. There are many folks who would like to see the world descend into a chaotic demise. Explain the motives of a suicide bomber using that logic.
Also...

No i don't.The Bible speaks of Anyone denying Jesus as being Anti-Christ,and having the spirit of Anti-Christ.
This whole there being a single person who will unite the world blah blah blah is a misunderstanding of the book of Revelation which was written about the Roman Empire and the Emperor Nero Ceesar.
The whole misunderstanding of the Book of Revelation came from the man-made creation of the 19th century theology known as Dispensationalism which permeates Christianity.

Yay for missing the point. This discussion is only loosely related to religion. The OP was using anti-christ do to the lack of a better word.

I think it's possible, but incredibly unlikely that someone could singlehandedly cause the end of the world, or even of humanity. If someone had a huge nuclear arsenal, they might be able to, but it would be difficult.

Well, when you say "Are we capable of such evil?" that doesn't make sense. Because biblically speaking, the anti Christ isn't exactly human. He is, yet he isn't. The bible says that the anti Christ is Satan in human form. So the proper question is, "Is Satan capable of such evil?". I cannot even fathom anyone more evil than Hitler. In a way this is like a question pertaining to the bible, because the bible made up this anti Christ character.
