my favs would have to be the dead, phish and dmb(meh losing taste for)
some songs i want to recommend/throw out there
Grateful dead- touch of grey, scarlet begonias, brokedown palace, estimated prophet, eyes of the world, st. stephen....(the list goes on, pm me if interested in expanding your music library)
Phish- run like an antelope, wading in the velvet sea, farmhouse, marijuana
Dave Matthews Band- tripping billies, two step, rapunzel, lie in our graves
remember, live is always better then studio!!

there are some good jam bands and musicians.
when i was little i used to listen to the grateful dead all the time and just a few months ago i was into sublime and bob marley.
they are the best thing to listen to when you just want to chill or are a little ... blazed.

well i wasn't alive at the time of the doors, so its hard to say lol. usually jam bands mix up their songs a lot vocally + instrumentally in concert, and also play in festivals. never really looked into any of their live stuff though. but yeah, quite sure that they're classified as psychedelic rock.
i think they're amazing btw, gotta love those guys. so sad all the greats die young :/
