Although tracking ads follow people as they browse different websites, Drawbridge uses statistics to do the same across devices.

The statistics generate a probability for which profiled user might be on that smartphone, tablet or laptop.

They invented a little something called Ghostery (http://www.ghostery.com/) for your web browser. For everything else, be careful what you sign in on(logging out usually doesn't help). Facebook sees everything you visit through their "Social Plugins" embedded on many sites, Twitter as well, and Google through "Google Analytics".

But you must realise what all these trackers originally started for: for analysing the traffic for different parts of a website. Now, however, seeing how profitable selling this data is, companies sell it to make a very large income on the side.
You should know what you're up against when venturing onto the internet.

Yes, I'd have to agree. It does give the sense of "Big Brother is watching you".
