Dunno if this is the right place, feel free to move it.
So my girlfriend went on the pill like 3/4 months ago, and shes only ever missed one and that was several months back and shes obviously had periods since then. But she was due on two days ago now and shes really worried. She told me yesterday and i just tried to reassure her etc like it will be fine your just a bit late.. But now after over 2 days I'm starting to shit myself a bit too..
I haven't told her that and im not going to! How effective is the pill if taken correctly every day? almost 100% isn't it?
I do not need another fucking pregnancy scare.

its like 97 er 98 er something
you should be wearing a condom to man
But I wouldn't worry yet
2 days isn't that late

If your really worried
you might be able to still use plan b

There's practically no chance of pregnancy if you use a condom and be on the pill.

If you have unprotected sex while she's on the pill (used correctly) theres still a chance but like you said it's in the near high 90%s - but that's the case if no human error.

Not to make any accusations, but there's a chance she may have forgotten to take it one time and she just didn't tell you. Like I said I'm not making any accusations or presumptions, just saying it's a possibility.

Missing a period doesn't always mean she's pregnant. It can come from stress or other reasons. If you haven't already get a pregnancy test.

Why would i wear a condom if shes on the pill... sort of defeats the point of her going on it.
And yeah I know there is a 72 hour pill, her mums getting her a pregnancy test if shes not on tomorrow. God if she is fucking pregnant thats gonna be a nice talk with her parents..
Yes that is a possibility, but i trust this girl with my life and i know she wouldnt just not tell me if she had missed one.

Double protection and more peace of mind so things like this don't happen again?

ALLOT and i mean ALLOT of people
use both
because then they never have to worry period
its 100%

EDIT:

I just thought of this
you might try using the patch instead of the pill to
just cause theres allot less bullshit n stress
My sis switched to the patch cause you stick it n forget it
I'm not saying she forgot just it would take this question away because you dont need to take a pill everyday or ever
and its allot less stress on her

But the only reason shes on the pill is so we dont have to use condoms and are still protected (ok so not 100%..) against pregnancy.
Isn't the patch like not suitable for smokers or something? I think i read that somewhere.

I honestly don't know about smokers it never even dawned on me that it could have an effect, Katie doesn't smoke...
I'd take a second look at it though
just to make sure
It'd just be easier eh?

Okay thats fine I mean neither of you have an STD (sorry STI...jesus) so thats not a concern...but dude your gonna have to be prepared for scares like this then cause it isn't 100%
and Tim If I was you I'd talk to her and between the two of you make up a plan C for if the shit hits the fan not saying like NOW but if theres another scare in the future and it turns out to be ligit

Plan C is a fairly simple one i would think.. abortion. Theres no fucking way we would consider having a kid so thats sorted really.
Yeh i guess i should expect shit like this really with the pill, its just such a shock when it actually happens.

I'd have her take a preg. test immedietly.

It takes a while for the pill to actually "kick in". Plus it keeps her body on schedule, before I was on the pill my periods were very irregular, once I got on the pill the pills change color when your period is supposed to start and when she takes that diff. colored pill usually the period startes just a couple hours later.

But sorry thats probably tmi for ya. But again, give her that test!

i was on the pill for a while and it was the same as it was off. my doctor did, however, tell me that you can get pregnant even with the pill. if she has been on it from three to four months, the pill should have already regulated everything but wearing a condom still is not a bad idea.
if she does not have it within the next couple days, take a test.

Hmmm, glad to hear she's not pregnant.

The pill is, when taken consistently and regularly, nearly 99% effective. A couple of days isn't really 'late', the body isn't a machine. However, I question your readiness for sex not knowing this, and your reaction, which was really more about yourself than a concern for her. Having sex might be 'fun', but remember that it's not just about your fun, it's a responsibility, too. To another person. Think on that, and your response to this scare.

As a FYI, the pill does not protect from STD's, the reason to wear a condom these days isn't just for pregancay protection, it's for that, too.

What the fuck, my reaction was fear that she might be pregnant which is obviously an issue for me but is a greater issue for her..
And a couple of days is infact a later period, and when she has very very rarely been even a day late over the 4 or so years shes been menstruating, when shes over 2 days late i started to worry.
You can question whatever you like, im 17 and im quite ready thank you, of course i fucking know that the pill doesn't protect against STIs.
We have both been tested and are clean so theres no problem there.
