New YouTube?

YouTube got a new makeover yesterday!
I'm not sure how I feel about it, other than it now looks a bit Windows 8-esque and it also looks like the new GMail and Google Drive. Which actually makes oodles of sense considering it is controlled by Google.

So what do you all think of it?

I really hate the new layout, I miss the old YouTube.

To be perfectly honest, I don't like it now, but I imagine that the reason for that is simply that I'm not used to it, and hence am having a certain amount of difficulty using it. The main problem to me is simply that I'm not familiar with the layout, but as that changes, I should think that I will like it at least as much as the previous interface. It actually feels rather more polished and refined, in my eyes at least, than the previous one, and is sensibly following the current trend in user interfaces of a more simplistic, 'flat' look, which I personally rather like (although some of the loss of functionality which can come from this is irritating).

Yeah, it's okay. But to be honest, I liked the old one. They keep changing it which is kind of annoying - I was just getting used to the old one...

Yeah, it's Ok, but in my opinion the other youtube design/layout looked better.

Right now it feels a bit weird, but like everything, I'll get used to it soon enough.

I remember when everyone was moaning about the facebook timeline and now we're all used to it like it's always been like that.
Sure it's a little annoying it's changed just after we got used to the other layout but it's not like we can get it back so might as well just get on with finding out how to use it.

If you really cannot stand it, it isn't actually too hard to create your own, personal YouTube "mirror". Some of the stuff isn't too well known, but if you know how to make a usable(for your own preference) UI and can program enough, take a look at the API documentation (https://gdata.youtube.com/demo/index.html).
Some day I plan to do that, but I don't have that kind of time right now, unfortunately.

I like it. My favorite part is the new playlist layout thing, I hated the old one. I liked having it open, but it blocked my play button, volume, etc. Now it's not an issue.

I do like the playlist layout, however, everything else is shit in my opinion. They made it look like an iPad app on your computer.

I hate to new You Tube. I'm very slow when it come to new technology. It makes my brain sad :( :P all i want to do is watch some videos not pilot the USS Enterprise.

I think I liked the old one much better. The changes aren't overwhelming and it is still very easy to use. I am just not sure if I like the new version.

It doesn't look too bad. It just looks different. I just question why they made these changes in the first place. I mean it looked okay before. I don't use much settings within youtube. I just use the subscriptions to keep track of peoples videos I watch. So I don't know if any settings or what not were changed.

Overall I'll get used to it eventually but for now I don't really like the new changes. I think appearance wise it looked okay before the changes and I question the overall point in why it was changed in the first place.

I'm not a fan of the new Youtube. When I first saw it I thought Youtube was broken... For some odd reason I don't have the new Youtube layout right now but I have had it before.

I might be goin a little overbored here but....

- old channel layout instead of this blogger bullshit...
- Friends weren't called "contacts"
- 5 star rating system
- comments didn't have the thumbnail
- iconic yellow subscribe button
- no Vevo...
- no ads (yes, i use ad blocker...)
- Google accounts weren't associated
- Channel stats were to the right of the video
- Youtubers like Smosh, Nigahiga, and ShaneDawsonTV- were at their peak
- There weren't all these stupid people debating about religion on random ass videos.

I WANT THE OLD YOUTUBE BACK. :(

Looks much more minimalism and a bit more polished. But I hate the avatar thingy. I mean, that takes a lot of bandwidth, you know.

There isn't much difference from when we had the change back in early '12.

I get really fustrated when people keep complaining about how they hate the "new youtube" on YouTube and request for likes. YouTube changes their layout based on feedback by YouTube users. They asked for changes, they get it and they whine. About half a year later, the complaining will subside until YouTube changes their layout based on feedback again, you have these comments popping up all the place.

Its OK. I have a lot of google related things so it is nice to be linked together. I just liked the old version better. It was cleaner for one and easier to find and read.

No offense to YouTube staff or anyone else and what I am going to type is not hate speech, but the new skin really sucked :( I couldn't really sort out how to just see the newest vids and not seeing YouTube's recommendations to me (cuz I already saw the vids they recommend to me!), plus the new skin is pretty much worse than the old one no matter in usage or in looks, so yea I prefer the old skin.
