Told my daddy I cut...he got mad, grounded me from my fav game, almost took away my computer, practically called me crazy (can't blame him though), expressed his disapointment, making me quit(obvously), then blamed himself. So, I screwed everything up. And, have to find a good replacement cuz already feeling need to cut. But I have to stop somehow.I can't disapoint him again. :what:

I don't mean to be rude, but why would you tell him?
I know people view self-harm as bad, and it is bad but to me it's a secret, people don't know about it.

I understand why you told him...sometime I want to tell that to my mother but I am just so scared of her reaction (eve though she knows I cut in the past...I promised her I wouldn't do it again, but guess what..:/ ). I cannot imagine telling that to my father or to my mother if she didn't know. First of all you should be proud of yourself for stepping up.
I believe that your dad loves you no matter what and for a parent there is no greater job than being able to make their child happy and safe; therefore it is normal that he felt like a failure but that doesn't mean that he had the right to tell you that you disappointed him.
I would warmly advise you to sit down with him and talk about your cutting. Tell him that SI is very common but no one talks about that....tell him about your cutting and let him know why you did that, also tell him that you want to find way out of it and that you need his full support.
I guess you could go to the therapist, they can understand you and give you good advice. Also by being here you can meet a lot of people like you with the same problems, urges, same need to cut but the same will to stop doing that.
If you need anything pm me.
We can talk about stopping because I would like to stop and we can exchange experiences and stuff.
Just keep your head high and take care

Its ok... think I just needed to rant. The situation is my fault andhe had every right to tell me he was disapoined. I don't like it, but I have to fix the problem I made...

i totaly understand why you told him, its not ur fault it was ur way of coping. everyone responds to it differently some get angry, some cut u out of there life, and some will try anything they can to help you.. u just have to let them react how they will then when he cailms down talk to him about it about why you do it help him to understand it abit better...
as of ways to stop i suggest, going for a run, doing some art, writting some lycris or a story or a jounral, exercising, listening to music, going for a walk, or even when u really need to do it u might try holding onto an icecube that is surpose to work although i have never tryed that.. try some of these and see what helps.. always here if u wanna chat just pm me

you shouldn't beat you're self up you were just trying to be honest to you're dad but don't give up on him yet he still loves you deeply he just didn't know what to do at the time and is most probably still confused on what to do.
