I wouldn't say "abused," but definitely taking up server space/availability definitely :P

Really? I think it's the best term for what happened.

Spammers used it, in a way it was not meant to be used. Ab-use. Abuse. They posted so much that it ended up slowing the whole site down.

Well, then everybody was spamming because ranting about your day or saying I've had it is 'spam.'

no... when i logged onto vt when the spammers were on and spamming the shoutbox i had to reboot my computer like 4 times. it really screwed it up.

Um no. Do you actually know what the shoutbox was used for?

The only rules were VT rules, and no conversations. There were no limitations about saying 'today sucked' or 'i failed my physics test today' or 'i found out i'm pregnant...' Where did you get the idea that we couldn't rant about your day?

An old group of banned members returned with more dupes (and I could be wrong but I believe they've done shit like this before) and spammed the boards with threads with probably like a hundred (okay slight exadgeration) videos, which killed your browser and laptop/device. (yes, it killed my ipad just like it would any computer.) They also sent a ton of messages in the shoutbox, thus lagging vt for most people on it.

So there you have it. It was abused, and it's gone.
