Im curious but what circumstances would you call something a eating disorder? How severe or what exactly?

I'm pretty sure an eating disorder is when you eat too much, or don't eat enough.

There are two stages that an eating disorder can go. You eat to much that leads to obesity, or you eat to little and become very thin, anorexia. If you are obese your diet could consist of 3,000-5,000 calories per day. The average male eats roughly 2,000 calories perday. If you are anorexic you would eat very little. If you are anarexic you commonly veiw your self as overweight and that you can become thiner. You might only eat 500-700 calories per day, or less. Hope this helps your question:D

Anytime! So the average diet is roughly 1400-2000 calories a day. Now of coarse that depends on how physical you are (if you do a lot of exercising you would most likely eat a higher calorie diet), what your gender is (females tend to need less), and your weight/hight (taller heavier people would eat more).
A good way to find out if you are eating enough is to check you BMI or Body Mass Index. Here is a link to a website where you can find yours!

As long as its 18 or more. It might just be you! Everyone is unique. If its below 18 then try and eat a little more, push in a snack or two through out the day. Or eat hardier meals. But like i said, it could be just you:)

Eating disorders are when the person has a loss of control over their eating, purging or exercise habits. For instance: Michael Phelps eats like 8000 calories a day, but nobody would say he has an eating disorder. Similarly, he works out to an excessive extent but both of these are because he has chosen a physically demanding profession which he can choose to quit whenever he feels like it.
When your average Joe eats 8000 calories a day despite not wanting to (it's a compulsion, see) then that is an eating disorder. It's hard to understand unless you have an ED but essentially you become so emotionally/mentally invested in food that 20 calories will make the disorder scream abuse at you. Your hands will keep shoveling food into your mouth even after your stomach is stretched to a painful extent. You spend hours on the bathroom floor wishing you could just walk away but knowing that you can't.
Hope I've explained it to you and I'm sorry if I've missed anything out or confused you.
