Just want to know from guys and girls what you think about the double standard guys have towards girls. Some guys i know were talking at a party about how big a slut Mary (not her real name) was. She and i have been friends since the 7th grade and I know she gets around sexually but so do I the difference is i don't act that way around anyone from my school or where I live. Why is it ok for a guy to have sex with as many girls he can and be praised for it while if a girl acts the same way she called a slut or skank. Don't guys realize girls want sex just as much as guys do

Blame society, as society says our generation always does blame society. Societyception?
But I think towards the end you maybe touched on a valid point "Don't guys realise girls just want sex as much as boys do", and I think society has told us that girls 'do NOT' want sex, anywhere as near as boys. So to add to this and many other factors, society has only taught us this way, and as the upcoming generation appears, this will more than likely change. Really nice post too, to be honest!
P.S. I love Americans spelling words with 'ize' :D

Yes but its only some guys. I would never say that about a girl - in any case sex is kinda private - maybe its how your friend acts but still that is no excuse.

Guys call girls names because they want to rationalize then not getting to have them.

Yea I hate that double standard too. I wish I didn't have to hide so much about my sex life.

It's a sad but true part of society. Some guys want to seem cool and tough and brag about their conquests and then talk trash about the girls they're with. I can't control what they think or say, so I try not to worry about it.
I only really care what my friends and family think about me.

If I was a girl and had as much sex as I wanted I would be called a slut, and if I had as much sex as I wanted right now, I would be called a player. It's fucking retarded.

That is the most stupid thing ever and I hate it. So I just start calling dudes hoes and girls players. I got almost all the girls in my grade to think like that and trust that suit is changing. I feel like you can do whatever you wanna do and no one should be judged because its not them doing it

Because misogyny. Because women are still widely seen as less than human, therefore we aren't supposed to have our own wants and if we do then it's a horrible thing.

This is one thing about guys that I don't get at all. Guys want to get laid, yet I hear guys complain about certain girls being sluts. WTF?! You can't get laid unless a girl puts out but once she does it's like she becomes some piece of trash. That is such crap! A guy has sex and he's a stud, a girl has sex and she's a slut. It's really frustrating.

You're all very confusing no one praises a guy if he has sex with a girl and leaves her especially where I'm from, and I'm from Africa!!! So either your friend is sleeping with every person she sees or you've got a really f#cked up friend circle...

there is a massive double standard, should it be that way? no. But society does what society does, girls are pure and innocent while males are disgusting and vile. Although i can see where it comes from, you never have to ask a guys permission to have sex, its 99.99 percent of the time up to the girl, hence its an accomplishment if a guy can get a lot of girls to say yes. On the other hand, if a girl just says yes to a lot of guys, it makes her 'easy'. A master key opens a lot of locks, a lock opened by many keys is a shitty lock.

Customs and life styles are very different here in the states than they are in Africa as well as other countries and no she dosen't sleep with everyone she sees. Hell if she lived in Afganistan or Pakastain she would be put to death for a lot less than having sex

Thats my whole point but for now I guess i'm going to stay in the closet. God if any of my friends from school actually knew about my sex life I would be an outcast in my school

Secondly, I dont think its a double standard between boys and girls. Most guys love sluts. LOVE THEM. its the girls who beat up on eachother for it. If GIRLS treated eachother like boys treated eachother about sex then it wouldnt be a problem.
thirdly, trust me there is some backlash for a guy who doesnt have long relationships and has sex with a lot of women. All girls have a number in their heads that is too many for a boyfriend to have slept with. i havent even had sex with that many girls but when a girl asks the question i see gross face sometimes.
So yeah, i think also that men like the unattainable (not too unattainable) but they want to feel like they fought hard to get something and when a girl just gives it then it takes away part of how important it is.

"Most guys love sluts. LOVE THEM."
I for a fact have heard guys talk negatively about certain girls that they thought of as...well let's just say too easy. I think think of one girl that I used to work with. We weren't real close but I liked her. One day I heard guys talking about her like "Oh stay away from her. She's been with about every guy here. You'll probably catch something from her." I never got that impression from her from being around her. I thought she was sweet. Maybe she did sleep with a couple guys that worked there, I don't know. But I felt bad for her that co-workers were talking that way about her behind her back. If it was a guy I gaurantee they wouldn't be warning girls they might catch something from him.

i dunno, ive had those conversations. more like hey bro careful cuz that girl is easy. shes been around so make sure you wrap up. usually you only warn a guy off if a girl is terrible or loud about it to her friends. in my experience.
