Definition of gay?

What is the definition of gay? I know that it has something to do with being attracted to someone of the same sex. As stated in the sticky,
You might be gay if;

-You only want to do things with a guy
-You don't want to have a life with a girl

But can I consider myself gay even though I haven't even kissed a guy?

you have to actually i think have a relationship as well as ne sexually attracted and not have any attraction to women

I am not attracted to women the slightest, but sometimes I think of having a life with a wife and kids, I think it would be miserable for me, but when I think of living a life with a man I love it just makes me smile. So being gay is more than having sexual experiences with the same sex, and having an emotional connection with them too?

Practical confirmation is nice, but not essential if you are honest with yourself about your feelings. I have always known I was gay, but it took me until this summer to confirm that I like boys in practice. I've always known 'in theory' that I'm not attracted to girls and attracted to boys. I've never had any experience with girls, but I'm positive I am not 'bi' as I have a total lack of interest in girls and if anything find them a "turn off".

In terms of 'imagining the future' I think in some ways this can be unreliable unless you are truly honest with yourself:

You don't need to want a relationship to be gay - plenty of gay guys are like straight guys who sleep around just for sex.
Society enforces certain patterns on us as normal - bowing to that pressure and marrying a woman is something a lot of straight guys used to do in the UK (and still do in the USA) just to try and conform. Eg I was just reading Pennsylvania State Rep. Mike Fleck came out (http://www.gaystarnews.com/article/state-representative-comes-out-closet011212) after divorcing his wife.
