For various antidepressant meds, what are the worst or normal really just not fun side effects?

I'm on Prozac, and there's a bunch of potential side effects, but the only ones I really encounter are headaches, dizziness, nausea, being kind of spaced out, feeling exhausted all the time, and sometimes my depressive episodes are a bit amplified. I've heard that the side effects are only bad for the first 4-6 weeks you start though, and that after it's had time to fully get in your system it isn't so bad. My psychiatrist also started me on a super low dosage so the side effects wouldn't be completely unbearable.

Uh, here are the ones I've experienced:
Weight gain
A hangover-type side effect
An increase in suicidal thoughts
Stomach upset
Vertigo.
I'm sure there are tons of other ones, but yeah. These are pretty bad.

Different meds can also cause weight loss. Also, can I have your body? I'd kill to be skinny.

I actually don't know whether my anti-depressants/anti-anxiety medication even works most of the time and I'm not sure if there are psychological side-effects or if it's a symptom of depression/OCD itself. The side-effect I have experienced which is definitely caused by the medication is acid-reflux and that's only started happening when the doctor upped my dosage.

Apart from the side effects already listed I have experienced really annoying moodswings, mostly from being really happy to want to kill anything that moves in an annoying way or that does something annoying like finger tapping

Aye, I've gotten that too. I'm pretty sure it's drug-induced mania/hyper-awareness. But yeah, you do get very easily irritated.
Some also can cause excess sweating. But that one isn't so serious; the worst that can happen is dehydration or embarrassment.

There can be many side effects -
If you google the meds brand name you should find the manufacturers web site or a pharmacy site which lists the side effects

I am on Lexapro and let me say it works very well for my genetic depression.
The only side effects I have noticed is that if you take any other time than right before bed it makes you tired as a motherfucker and I gained about 5-10 pounds and weed makes me more depressed than it used to. So in my opinion it is a lot better than being depressed all of the time.

I've had risperidone (which isn't really an antidepressant) and the side effects with that were pretty bad for me. I was really tired and just couldn't be bothered to do anything. Its hard to describe properly. I didn't like it. The only good thing about it was it stopped some of the tics i have. (Apparently it can give you man boobs too  )
I'm on mirtazapine now. At first it made me really tired, like couldn't get up in the morning, felt like a zombie all day kind of tired. But after taking if for about 10 days it kind of went away. It does make you gain weight though. I gained 3lbs, which i don't really mind about but its 3lbs of fat. If i was going to gain weight i'd rather it be muscle i was gaining. Some girl at a group i have to go to was crying because she'd gained tons and she was only eating 500 calories a day. Its kind of a cruel thing to do to people with eating disorders. It does make you hungry all the time, but not hungry for fruit or anything healthy. Just crappy junk food. Apart from that i do feel somewhat better though.

I'm just speaking from personal experience:
When I was on Citalopram I was so agitated and speeds up your thoughts, so I felt suicidal so much when I was on it. This is not common though. I might have just been depressed anyways
Fluoxetine is good, makes you a tiny bit more alert, like coffee
Ritalin is not an anti-depressant, it's for distress and schizophrenia, but it makes you sleepy and light-headed.

I was on anti-depressants for a while, they reduced my sex drive quite a lot and when I did masturbate it was difficult to finish. Both of those effects were listed in the leaflet.

Pills numb the pain, they don't solve the root of the problems your facing. Get off the meds and seek some professional help.

I don't take any 'real' antidepressant drugs anymore, I take natural products like Valerian root which helps a lot. It doesn't have many side effects, but sometimes you can feel a bit sick or apathetic
