well when I got my first physical the doctor did the turn-and-cough thing. So maybe that could be something that happens. Just remember that these doctors deal with so many of these things that they won't start blushing or anything. My doctor was very professional

There are two main types of physicals, a sports clearance one and a full physical.

In both, they check: height, weight, blood pressure, hearing, vision, reflexes, and sometimes make you do a few exercises to make sure your joints are working properly. In a full physical the doctor will talk to you briefly about sex and drugs, and give you a book generally with a bunch of handouts and some condoms in it. They also check your balls for cancer. Pretty painless thing. Don't worry about what the doctor thinks either as so many guys do, he's a professional and has seen everything.

i get physicals all the time for sports and it's pretty much what these other guys have said except i have never been given books or condoms. that would be pretty weird. LOL

depending on where you live and your age you might have to have a parent stay in with you. it's not so bad if you do.

How could you forget - anyways it varies even some docs just have thier own way of doing it all and of course a nurse may do some of the checks - just depends really. Might depend much on your family history as well or any problems you have had -

Anyways you can ask or get info before you go - can you?

I can't believe that so many posts are about fear of a physical....doctors are professional, seen more than any of us will ever see of both sexes....and deal with things that are needed to keep us healthy....and a lot of guys are afraid having parents in there (for me tho haven't had either in since I was 11 so maybe I just am used to it)....but remember they have seen everything there is to see on you from the day you were born...and your father has the same physiology as you do so he'll be fine with you.....I've taken so many physical for sports and just general that they don't even phase me.....just relax things will be cool

For school sports you have to get a physical so i get one every year. At first i was scared but after a coupple there wasn't anything wrong. They just check your pysical condition all around.
