Syros Shipyard, Omicron 94.

"Computer, begin recording."
The computer beeps in recognition to Fleet Admiral Hunter Steel's command.
"It has taken some time, and some effort. But the Leviathan Class Juggernaut that we found in our Research Expedition into Omicron Iota is no safely in space dock for repairs. Our Engineers have reported that they have never seen such technology on a ship before. Most interestingly is it's singularity reactor. Luckily when we found it the systems to keep it stable were still functioning, the chances of it going unstable are slim, or so my engineers tell me.

According to one of my men, similar technology is implemented on the Nephilim Zoner Juggernauts. It seems we have acquired a bit of their technology. The Zoner menace might have to rethink allowing the Bounty Hunters Guild into Corsair Space. So far, restoration work has begun on the upper decks and will begin on the engines and weapons hard points after Decks A through E are restored. The estimated time of completion is around 6 months and the Leviathan should be ready for implementation into the Society's fleet..." He's sentence was cutoff from a call over the intercom. "Syros Control to Fleet Admiral Steel."
"Yes I am here. What is it? I'm in the middle of making a report."
"Sorry to disturb you, but you need to come see this. Would be best if you came and saw it immediately, Sir."
"Understood, on my way." He said after releasing the button on the intercom."Something I need to see immediately? What's that all about." he said confused as he went to the dock of he's personal yacht. "Pilot, set a course for Syros shipyard, maximum speed. Its urgent." He said as he sat down in an arm chair. "What could be so urgent, Sir?" Asked the pilot, taking the ship out of it's dock and preparing to go to cruise. "Thats what I want to find out. We need to hurry." Said Hunter. "Very well, Sir."

It took them at top speed 3 hours to get to Syros. But eventually they arrived only to be greeted by the Head of Research, Mira Povah and an old friend's Daughter, Ines Barragan. "Greeted by two of the three beauties in the Society. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Jested the Admiral. "I didn't call you here for idle chit-chat or flirting. I called you here because we found a contaminant in Section B4 on C Deck." She retaliated. "Ah, I supposed your going to show me the contaminant or stand here trying to explain the unexplainable?" Retorted Admiral Hunter. "Yes, come this way." She led them through the ship to the entrance of Cargo Bay 4, one of the largest Cargo Bays in the ship.

"You may want to put on a biohazard suit. The contaminate has already claimed on of my engineers." She said, showing them the biohazard suits hanging next to the door. "Right, don't want the Society to lose it's leader, and Saber would kill me." Laughing as he said that. When they were done putting on their Biohazard suits, Mira opened the door to reveal a large blue jelly substance. Just as she opened it, three energy blasts sounding like nomad turrets fired at them. Luckily there was a shield put in the door way. Hunter drew in closer as the substance fired at them again. "From what I can tell, that's a Nomad. Mira, you sure your scanners didn't pick this up until two of your engineers stumbled upon it?" Asked Hunter as he examined the nomad infront of him. "No, Sir, we couldn't detect it when we brought the ship in." Replied Mira, her voice sounding a little disappointed. "I want this section quarantined, as well as all air vents and anything that can allow spores to travel throughout the ship sealed off. See what you can do about removing the entire unit from the ship. I'd like to have that brought to our labs." Ordered Hunter as he closed the door and headed towards the bridge. "Yes, Sir. Ines, would you kindly show the Admiral around the ship? If he's in the mood, he won't mind answering any questions you may have." She said in a soft tone towards the young girl. Being only 16, Admiral Hunter had been like an idol to her. So being told she could show him around and ask him all sorts of questions really raised her moral. "Yes, Ma'am!" She replied with a little too much enthusiasm.

Council Chambers, Planet Crete, Omicron Gamma

“The Zoners are putting pressure on the Empire about that Persephone you salvaged, Admiral Hunter.” Said Elder Fernandez, looking highly stressed about the situation. “We’re facing an entire Zoner fleet! What do you plan to do?!” Exclaimed Elder Vacille, anger flaring in he’s eyes. “And their busy threatening to cut off the food their supplying to us. We’d starve to death before they wipe out the Empire.” Elder Fedora stated before she looked in Hunter’s direction. “Might I add that we have the ability to recreate the Persephone? Our engineers are two weeks away from giving me a fully detailed schematic of the ship, the ship’s enterior, the technology and the reactor technology the ship is running off of. Tell them to wait three weeks, since we’re going to give it back to them. But under no circumstances am I going to get rid of our only chance to show up the Outcasts, the Red Hessians, the Bounty Hunters Guild and the Bretonian Empire!”

The Elders looked around at eachother and nodded in agreement. “You have three weeks to make this work. Otherwise we’re giving it back weather you have those schematics or not.” Replied Elder Fernandez. “I will not disappoint you. In the mean time, I suggest stationing one defense fleet at the Omicron Theta Jumphole and the Omega 47 Jumphole. Each defence fleet should consist of one Osiris, two Praefects, two Gunboats , six Bombers and twelve Titans. It is imperative that we strengthen our borders. “ Ordered Admiral Hunter, looking unsure if he acted out of place or not. “Agreed. We must strengthen our borders. We will not allow the Empire to be destroyed!” Exclaimed Elder Vacille, he moved over to he’s console and began ordering the fleets to assemble and move out to strengthen the areas around the Jumpholes. The other Elders began to order the fleets at the borders of the Empire to begin tightening the patrols around their respective Space stations. And for the fighter patrols in Omega 49 and Dublin to be on the look out for hostile Zoners.

They also began strengthening positions in Omega 50 and Omicron Delta. Knowing that those two positions are in deep danger. Within three days the Empire was ready for a full scale war. Although the war might only last 6 months before the Empire falls to the Zoners, they are willing to fight till the last man. News of the Corsairs strengthening their positions surprised the Zoners and the Bounty Hunters Guild as they suddenly found it quite difficult to attack the Corsairs now. And the fact that their patrols in Omicron Gamma were being wiped out faster and with deadlier efficiency than before. The Zoners began to question the Corsairs scanning and allowing Zoner Transports access to Gamma or deny them access to Gamma. Outcasts began to struggle to push the Corsairs back in Omicron Eta, the Red Hessians also found more difficulty as their patrols were met with fierce resistance.

In Omega 49 Zoner patrols were forced to make wide detours around Corsair patrols. And in Omega 50 Zoners were denied access to the Corsair base hidden in the Asteroid field. And back at Crete the Council of Elders was getting heat from the Zoner government about the new aggressive stance that the Corsairs took up, and that they pulled back their fleets because they were promised that they’d get their Persephone back within three weeks. Replying to that the Council of Elders said that it’s a security precaution because of the previous week’s threats. While this is happening the Archeological Society is working quickly to annalyze and reverse engineer as much technology as they can before the three week deadline reaches it’s close.

“We’ve managed to remove the Nomad, and are in the process of reverse engineering that Singularity Reactor that is currently in the ship.” Reported one of the Engineers that were working on the Persephone. “Leave it, I don’t want to have to deal with the Council of Elders if the reactor goes out of control and creates a blackhole. I want the Stage 25 Cold Fusion Reactor installed in the reverse Engineered version of this ship. Since we’re giving this ship back within the next two weeks.” Replied Hunter as he walked off to the bridge of the ship. “Yes, sir!” said the Engineer looking disappointed but knew what the Admiral was saying and halted the Singularity Reactor’s Reverse Engineering and began working to complete the Cold Fusion Reactor.

Walking to the Bridge, Hunter bumped into Ines Barragan. As soon as she saw him she hid behind a bulkhead hoping he hadn’t seen her. “Ines, what are you doing behind that bulkhead?” Inquired Hunter in a playful sort of tone. “U-u-uh n-n-nothing! I-I-I-...” She stammered. “Oh? You expect me to believe that you just happened to jump behind a bulkhead when I walked into the corridor?” He replied to her stammering. Still using he’s playful tone. “I-um... I was... Oh god. I didn’t see you there, and when I jumped behind the bulkhead I thought I saw a rat, but its-not-here...” She replied to he’s inquiry, the expression on her face giving her away as much as her blushing was crystal clear. “Uh-huh. Come on, off to the bridge with you. I don’t pay you stand around and admire the bulkheads.” He said, herding her towards the turbo lift to the bridge. “Yes...sir.” She surrendered knowing the Admiral won this time. As he did every other time.

“Okay men! We have two weeks to analyze all this tech and reverse engineer it. I also want you to put those panels back the way you found them. We don’t have much time. I want this ship analyzed from top to bottom. Nothing must be left out. I’m bringing in more scientists and engineers from Cadiz, Yaren and Crete.” He said to the whole ship over the intercom. He could hear the sounds of the men in the ship acknowledging he’s order. “Oh, one last thing, I want you to replace the section the nomad was in. We kinda had to remove that entire section of deck and hull plating. The hull plating will be brought back, but the deck plating is too contaminated. I also want all workers in there wearing hazmat suits to prevent any contamination by an spores that could’ve been released. The Zoners want their ship back, we’ll give it back to them with a present.” He said with an evil grin appearing on he’s face. He looked over to the stunned Ines standing next to her. Sighing he said, “What am I going to do with you? You keep freezing everytime your within a meter of me. Come on, get back to Mira and report to her what is happening on the ship. If you have time to stand there being frozen, you have time to do some work.” She looked back at him finally unfrozen by he’s words that seemed a little cold to her. “Yes sir, I’ll report to her immediately.” She replied. “Good, also, get me the report on how that Cold Fusion Reactor is coming along. Mira has yet to tell me anything. I must be off, I await to see the report on my desk tomorrow at 10:00 AM. “ he said as he walked to the ladder that led directly to the shuttle bay where he’s shuttle awaits.

Ines decided to take the long way around because something began to bother her. Wondering why Admiral Hunter was being cold to her back there. But what he said was true, she needed to learn to not freeze up in he’s presence, but it still touched a nerve. She walked around the corner to the turbo lift that went down to the flight deck. Over at the Thira Colony things were busy getting noisy as Hunter’s wife and daughter got into an argument over weather she should be going to the academy or not. “I will not go to the academy! I’m not like you or dad, I am myself!” Exclaimed Lira, Hunter and Saber’s daughter. “You will go to the academy, that is final! Your father thinks it will do you some good to go there and learn some discipline, I’ve had enough of you and the messages I keep getting from the authorities about your misdoings!!” Retaliated Saber, fire blazing in her eyes and anger boiling just beneath the surface of her usually kind face. “What the hell is going on here?!” Both Saber and Lira looked stunned as they heard Hunter exclaim through the hallway into the living room. “I won’t ask again. What the hell is going on here?!” Exclaimed Hunter a second time. “Hi honey. Me and Lira were discussing her going to the academy.” She said, trying not to anger Hunter any further. Hunter glared at her, then at Lira, then back to Saber. “I’m going to resolve this. My word will be final, there will be NO objections and there will be no whining. Am I understood?” Both of them nodded in silence. “Good. Lira, you will be going to the academy. You will carry on with your studies. But I won’t be sending you to the military academy; it’ll be the academy of your choice. I expect you to have made a decision by the end of the week. I also don’t want anymore arguments between you and your mother. Saber, you will also not start an argument. If an argument begins I will finish it before it gets out of control. We’re the Steel family, revered throughout the Empire, and the leading family of the Archaeological Society. We should be setting an example to the families that are also founding members of the Society. Especially to the Barragan and Povah families.” They both nodded again in silence.

“Daddy, I’ll make my decision by the end of the week.” Said Lira, partly stunned and partly relieved. “Good. Now come here and give your old man a hug. I have some important things to discuss with you. And Saber, dear, I also have some important things I must discuss with you as they are urgent.” He said, a serious look appearing in he’s eyes. “Yes, dear. I understand.” She replied. Concern filling her tone. “Lira, I’ll talk to you later, but for now I need to talk to your mother in private. Contact your friends and go meet with them or go to your room and do some research on which academy you would like to join.” He said, looking over to he’s daughter. “Yes dad. We’ll talk later then.” She said walking to her room to contact her friends. “Now then, as you are aware, the Zoners are putting pressure on the Council of Elders. I have my men working on the Persephone as fast as we possibly can but I fear we won’t have the ship analyzed completely by the end of next week.” He said, taking a seat in front of the Holo-TV. “I see, don’t worry too much about it, dear. I’m sure you’ll have it done before then. You’ve done far bigger tasks before.” Said Saber in a relaxing tone, as she began to massage Hunter’s shoulders. “You’re right. It’s beginning to take its toll on me and my men. But the Persephone will be analyzed before we give it back to the Zoners.”
They spent the next four hours talking about the Persephone and the Reverse Engineering that they are doing on it. And about how the Zoners are putting more and more pressure on the Council of Elders despite saying they will wait for the Persephone to be returned to them. “Its time I head back. Tell Lira when she gets back that I won’t be gone long. I just need to file a few reports and send them to the Council of Elders.” He said as he got up and walked to he’s office. “Yes dear. I’ll get working on supper in the mean time.” She said, a smile working its way on her face.

“Admiral Destroy, I want you to mobilize the fleet and take up defensive positions at the Omicron Gamma Jumphole. This is incase any Zoners decide to take an unauthorized peek into the system.” He ordered. “Yes, Sir! You expecting any trouble, sir?” Replied Admiral Destroy. “Yes and no. But I’d rather not let the Zoners or the Bounty Hunters Guild find out about this system or where the headquarters of our Society is. Even within the Empire, the only ones that actually know the location of this place are the people living here, members of the Society and the Elders. I’d like to keep it that way.” Replied Admiral Hunter. “Yes sir. I’ll notify the fleet. We’ll be in defensive positions around the jumphole by 08:00hrs tomorrow morning.” Said Admiral Destroy. “Good. Admiral Hunter over and out.”

Within the next two weeks, the Archaeological Society had analyzed the whole ship and drew up schematics for it. The following two days, the ship was returned to the Zoners.
