Hey Everybody, As my bio already states music is my heart and soul..so to speak..but I just recently finished my first song written solely by myself..and I was thinking about posting the lyrics on here so I could get some feedback..but does anybody else on here write music and would be willing to help me critique my song?

I fiddle around a bit with music and lyric writing, though I believe lyrics to be my strongest side, and guitar parts :P
If you posted the lyrics I'd be delighted to give you some feedback on what you could work on (if there is anything to work on at all

I've made a SHIT LOAD of music projects.

Not saying much of it is good though. Here's a list of my discography here. (http://timwritesstuff.tumblr.com/)

This is probably the least noisiest and easiest of my stuff to get into here. (http://horsewednesday.bandcamp.com/album/decayed) Most of my stuff is kind of insanely loud. Like this (http://cumdump.bandcamp.com/album/devil-diaper-worship-my-ass) is a mix of black metal, comedic noisecore, and other stupid stuff. Then I have my field recordings project here (http://ahorseonthursday.bandcamp.com/).

I'm shit at composing, but I've got a small project with a couple friends of mine and I'm lyrics/keyboards/vocals.

Critiquing is in my blood, too.

Yes. I compose, record, and produce. I find it hard to share though. When something you work on for months at a time and rewrite over and over...you don't want it critiqued because you've critiqued yourself more than enough in that time frame.

I also find it hard to share because it's personal. I write a lot of long, slow, almost depressing piano music. Not only am I afraid of having it critiqued, it's a fear of showing something to people that I can express feelings in a much different way than most. Things I make sound very sentimental, nostalgic, and generally melancholic.

I know it sounds really pretentious and self-serving, but I've often cried after recording and writing some of the things I've made. It's been that powerful of an experience these last three years doing all the exploration into my own innermost thoughts and feelings. It's an experience writing music, just like it's an experience recording what you've written. My only hope is that, when I die, that the things I've made continue down my family line. And hopefully people will finally come to understand why I use music as a solitude for my emotional baggage.

Yea I used to write raps but now I mostly write pop music or like I take a song and keep the beat but just change the words.

I've written probably about 600 decent songs. I write almost every day, only finish about half though. You could say I'm an experienced song writer, haha!!

I write lyrics. I'm not so good at the rest of the song as I am just a drummer but I do write lyrics. Most of them are silly story telling songs, for example: songs about alien invasions, writing a song when the pen runs out of ink, becoming a super hero, falling in love with a burger. But I can write a serious song.

I'd be happy to help you with yours.
