Locker Room Shyness

I went in my school's locker room for the first time to actually use it today to get changed for an off season track practice and I was kind of amazed that literally not a single guy took of their boxers. Isnt that what a locker room is for? I know that everyone is close by and all but they make special types of underwear for sports and its not being used.

I feel like its kind of a waste then having a locker room because I personally need to change into compression shorts to run in and it would be too weird if I was the only one with my bare ass hangin out. Is this what its like in other schools? Or is it just that its mostly freshman, i think? Or is today's youth just too self conscious and afraid of being naked with other guys? It seems really weird, not too sure if this is a debate or not so please move if needed thanks! :)

Well, I'm not a guy, and I only ever use the locker room to get changed for PE. During those times when we're changing for PE, I've yet to encounter a girl that's painfully shy about being in her bra and underwear, even if they're wearing a thong. There's never any need to get naked, though.

If you're worried about it, you can get changed in a bathroom stall.

i find it varies for different sports
for soccer i wear a jockstrap and cup but most guys dont and a lot just wear boxers under their soccer shorts so no stripping there
but the hockey team is another story. every gets naked to put on their soccer gear and everyone wears a jockstrap and cup. and we shower nude after.

Ppl in my school just change into pe sruff, nobody gets naked theres no need to they shower at home!!

In our locker room there are usually only like three people that take off there boxers before practice or pe but after almost every one does, i dont get it though cuz everyone is overprotective and doesnt want any one to see them but in the shower its all out there. Like they have a towel around them before and after the shower but not during so idk why bother :)

I dont want to change in the stall because there isnt one anywhere near my locker. I also take the bus home which is a 50 minute ride, and i dont want to have to stay in my sweaty clothes the entire ride. And i dont wear a cup for track, but i do wear compression shorts and I wore them all day today and it was really uncomfortable. I guess ill just have to get used to it, only 6 more months of it....

At my school we all get naked changing for PE and for sports. I think it would be gross to have to go home in sweaty clothes. I suggest you just go for it and don't worry about it. Maybe if you have the courage to be the first others will join you.

the same thing happens at my school as at spartanrob's .... we all just take of clothes, underwear, put on usually either a jock or compression shorts and out PE gear.....guys are always walking around naked usually after sports practices....we all have the same stuff so what's the difference....if you are afraid of popping a boner, well I understand but you wouldn't be the only one trust me it happens all the time....

I would love to have a school where everyone takes off their boxers but it just isn't like that, people try to protect their junk

I think it's more the freshman jitters...Our school everyone showers (mandatory) after gym, regardless...I would think afternoon classes would get a little stinky if people don't shower??

In the changing rooms guys just don't take off their boxers, or whatever underwear their wearing. There's no point- why would you want to take off your boxers in front of maybe 20 other guys, and show them your pinus, testicles, pubic hair, and bum. you could be thinking about that girl you fancy and have an erection- you defo wouldn't want to take your bxrs off with that [?]

it is mandatory at my school to wear a jock and shower after PE. started in grade 7 and i'm now in grade 11 and I've never seen an erection in the locker room or shower.

i don't take gym in high school so idk but in middle school we just changed into gym clothes at the beginning and kept our underwear on but at the end showers were mandatory cuz everyone stunk so everything came off. the gym shorts and tshirt stayed in the locker and our regular clothes came back on. including the boxers we'd been sweating in before we took the shower. lol

I wear boxer briefs so I don't need to change my underwear when playing sports, but I think the other guys are just being shy, and they don't want to risk being laughed at.

I think it's freshman jitters. I took swimming freshman year and we had to get naked. As you can read on here, a lot of guys are worried that there smaller or less developed than others and they really don't want to show off their junk. You would think that the guys with bigger ones would not be shy, right? There must be some guys who are bigger and would not be shy about it, dont ya think?

At our school in the uk we just get changed from school uniform to p.e top and trousers without taking off underwear and vise versa, we don't even have mandatory showers even though there are like 20 in the changing room, people really work up a sweat in pe and it's disgusting. ;L

Hey. Well, in my school, particularly the hockey and rugby teams, we all just stripped to the nude, unless if you had to rush off. We had the policy; what's to hide, we all have one.
Some guys did have hard-on's every now and then, we'd laugh, but we'd get over it, 'cause that stuff can happen to anyone at anytime.

I have never used the locker room in my entire High School life. I run cross country and I can say we are kinda lazy we just wear our running short shorts underneath our regular clothing when we run we just meet at the trails shirts off, what ever you are wearing over your short shorts off, shoes on and done.

Most all the boys I shower with seem to like getting naked as much as me. We stand around naked talking before and after the shower. There's only one boy in my locker row of about fifteen boys that seems to be shy about it. Just about every day at least one boy has a full erection.

It may be a little weird if you're the only one naked... I wouldn't do it for your own good.
