I know this is a very off topic post for this forum, but My Dad works as an airline pilot, and he failed his command check while being transfered from one company to another.
My Mum is totally freaking out! Having panic attacks for the first time in her life, an I don't know how to act.
Should I comfort? Be the voice of reason? Hide away? Cry with her? Carry on as normal? Or what?
Please help, I feel so confused! :what::(

Puberty for Boys :arrow2: Family and Friends
Since this has nothing to do with puberty you'll find more relevant answers here.
I'd comfort her, she could use someone to comfort and support her and you could be that person. Hiding away and ignoring the problem isn't going to solve anything and she'll feel very much alone.
So comfort her and she'll thank you for it. I hope you and your family get through this ordeal.

In regards to your mother, I think that you should comfort her, be that voice of reason a little bit for her. Let her know that everything will end up ok, that your dad will be able to try again, that you guys will get through this. Just be there for her, because I think she kind of overloaded a bit. She's thinking of everything that could happen that are negative consequences as a result of that, not of the things that will happen, or even any positive consequences, whatever those may be. She's not necessarily thinking rationally. Just be there to comfort and reassure her in your daily lives. I hope that things turn out ok for you guys, and that your dad is able to return to his job.

Do what you can - try and not hide away - but its not easy taking on stuff for others.
and do you have someone to talk to as well

Try to comfort your mother and not hide away. Most of the time parents are meant to be here for us, but sometimes they need a shoulder to lean on also.
