Something has been upsetting me which made me cut last night.. I know I will be even more stressed tonight. And, worst Monday. I need good distractions please. Some that could work when I'm in public or at work to :)

Well when I was cutting the way I got out of it was taking my old cell phones and chunk them at the ground. It just aloud me to relieve some tension, but I wouldn't do it as a perment thing. Try learn to play an instrument, like a guitar or ukulele. Or get a punching bag, and just picture all your feelings as the bag and let lose. As for the public thing, just get a pencil and paper and draw how you feel. Thats kept me cut free for over a year and half. Hope this helps ya.

Instead of trying to distract yourself from cutting, how about you try to prevent it. That is, if you truly want to stop, for good. You just have to have a happier outlook on things, no matter what it is. You have to be grateful everyday, it fights depression. Think of it like this: If you still have a breath left in you, someone out there in the world still needs you. So instead of thinking of distractions, just simply think of that.

At home, you can do anything that you can think of. Read a book, watch tv, watch a movie. Do some art or play music, or listen to music, or write. All of those are good, healthier ways to get your feelings out. At work or school, or in a public place, if the urge comes up, try playing a little game with yourself. Tic-tac-toe is one you could do, or draw a bunch of dots and see if you can connect them all by just going through each dot once. Just little things like that help get your mind focused on other things and off of the urges. And if you don't have any paper or anything to draw on to do that, try going over song lyrics of your favorite song in your head. There are plenty of other things you can do too--trust me hun, I know how you feel. We're all here to help and support you!

I write when I feel I am about to sh. Also, I play music and sing. If you have a hobby use that to distract you.

I found running and exercise to work for me as well as creative writing and video games.
You can try just about anything and I'm sure you will find what helps you the most.

In public: listen to music and put upbeat music on or something that reminds you of a good time
At work: best thing I can think of is just throw yourself into your work. Always keep busy so you literally can't think of anything.
Hope these help, only things I can think of at the top of my head...

Get a punching bag... Write the things that depresses you and give some real hard punches... Listen to some soft melodies... Beethovan would be great at time of distress.. I used to hear him loads wen im pulled down by someone.... Take a looong shower... Mostly warm... Coz it soothes the nerves... And try to forget everything that depresses you... If its a he/she take a pic of them... Burn it.. And flush it... That's what i do... It helps me.. Hope it helps you too!!
