I have broken my foot 3 times, and I snapped my arm a few years back. After they healed the only problem I had was strength, but there has been a cold front so now my foot hurts when I walk and my arm hurts when I vacuum, help in the yard, write, etc. What can i do so that my foot and arm don't hurt as much w/out taking a million more pills than I already take?

In all honesty, other than trying a heat wrap or some sort of thing like Biofreeze cream, there's not much you can do. The injuries are already healed, and this type of thing isn't uncommon at all with healed injuries when it gets cold. Ever hear older people say they ache when it gets cold out? That's part of the reason why--the cold can aggravate old injuries, causing them to ache even when they've long since healed. So I would recommend something like Biofreeze or IcyHot or something to try more than anything. Also, I don't know if you have a hot tub or not, or have access to one or not, but regularly using one can help quite a bit in reducing achiness in general, especially in cold weather.

I don't know the medical terms for it. However I have read and heard that the cold can effect old injuries. Sometimes just making them ache a little. Like Clint says, try a heat patch and maybe relaxing in that hot tub of yours and bundle up warm when going out and it will help.
I also think why your arm hurts at the end of hovering is because you are actively working your arm muscles and maybe this is making your arm tender.

My arm hurting when I do stuff is partially my fault. It snapped in two places and I never did PT for it, but I learned my lesson and did PT for my foot. Thanks for the advice :)
