I'm not sure if this is a general discussion, somewhat of a rant, or what, but I'm applying for 9 colleges right now, and its really starting to stress me out. The due dates are coming up soon, and I still have a ton of essays to write. I'm trying to relax, but its pretty difficult when an application and acceptance into a college can change the course of your life. I have three schools (UCSD, Cal Poly, and University of Texas at Austin) whose apps are due on the 30th, and although I know I will finish by then, it still is really stressful. So I just wanted to know:
How many colleges are you applying to?
Which ones?
Any intended major?
How are your apps going?
How are you dealing with the stress and anxiousness?

Thanks :help:

How many colleges are you applying to? I applied to four
Which ones? AU, HU, MU, and BSU (all in my state, mostly for the instate tuition because we can't afford out of state.)
Any intended major? Political science
How are your apps going? My apps to AU, HU, and MU are finished, BSU I'm still working on. I've actually been accepted to AU and MU.
How are you dealing with the stress and anxiousness? For me, the stress and anxiety isn't so much for the applications for the colleges as it is for scholarships. Because I need scholarships to go to college--if I don't get them, we really can't afford it. Then that's like a bunch of debt in student loans that I would have to pay off. It really struck me when I was working on several essays for a scholarship and I just thought, "Wow. $17,000 is riding on these essays. That's a fuckton of money, and a shitload of stress."

Well I've decided not to go to college, but before that I was kind of working on one early app, so I'll answer as if it's still the plan.

How many? One... kind of..
Which ones? Kent State (Main and Trumbull campus)
Major? Chemistry
How's it going? Well, I was accepted for early/priority application, which just means yours will be one of the first they review and you'll an answer long before the due date even come around.
Stress? I wasn't really stressed, mostly because I wasn't sure if I would actually turn it in, they obviously wanted me, and I'm pretty good with essays. The only worry i had was that my test scores wouldn't be able to hold up my grades, which I dealt with by not thinking about it lol

I'm applying to 5 or 6 and I agree that it's pretty stressful. I too have a bunch of essays to finish writing and I'd really rather be doing anything else but them.

How many colleges are you applying to? 5-6
Any intended major? Psychology
How are your apps going? They're going okay, the essay writing sucks though.
How are you dealing with the stress and anxiousness? I try not to think too much about it when I'm not working on them. A few of my choices also accept the common app, which is really convenient and takes away quite a bit of stress.

How many colleges are you applying to? I applied to only two last year
Which ones? Penn Stat and Pitt
Any intended major?
How are your apps going? got accepted into both
How are you dealing with the stress and anxiousness?

I didn't have to do an essay at all but I got into Pitt. Good thing because I hate essays.

How many colleges are you applying to? 11
Which ones? 2 Ivy leagues, a couple of Jesuit schools and a few north east private schools.
Any intended major? i want to go in undeclared but ill probably end up saying history or pre-law
How are your apps going? I am freaking out over the college essay. I always feel like i could improve it but I want to keep it short but concise. It is really intimidating.

How are you dealing with the stress and anxiousness?
I work out. i read. I put more effort into the applications and my prep classes. I think being idle makes it worse. So ive found hard work makes it less rough.
