View Full Version : Really weird hunger patterns.. Underweight?

Ok, So here I am typing at 9:19 PM and I've made dinner so that when my parents and bro get home they eat but I haven't felt hungry at all and I ate last at 1 o clock. Thats kinda typical.
I usually get really hungry at 12 PM and not hungry for breakfast then Really hungry at like 11 AM and Hungry for lunch then not hungry fro a loooongg time. And I can't really eat a lot at all during non-hungry times.
So, its a really weird hunger pattern thing. And I can never really eat much all at once usually...
So I just turned 13 and I weigh like 85 lbs an dam about 5ft 1 in tall. Everyone else weighs like 100+.
And I mean I'm pretty healthy and I'm in athletics, I play for soccer for a club, etc.
My ribs just stick out a lot .. and people call me like anerexic (cant spell lolz)
So what do I do? I eat a lot of veges and not much meat cause half my family is vegetarian. I dont drink much soda and drink a lot of milk..
I do NOT barf and am not ////////
I wish I could just gain some weight !

From the sounds of it, what you really need to do is eat small amounts of nutricous foods often. Perhaps the food you're eating isn't delivering the right amounts of stuff into your body, for example, junk food may fill you up and give you a short burst of energy for a short time, but that soon wears off and you're hungry again. Good snacks are sandwhiches, toast even, anything that contains a complex carbohydrate really.
And you really need to eat meat, it's a good source of iron, and you get heaps of good stuff from meat (I know, technical stuff eh XD). If you don't want to eat meat, there's other stuff you can eat, such as things like tofu and things like that.
So yeah, if you try setting regular eating patterns and sticking to them, maybe that would help.
Wow, I said things and stuff heaps ... if I was in my bio class I would have been murdered by now (my bio teacher thinks using "stuff" and things" to describe something is as bad as swearing. XD :))

Eh, quit bitching. You're in great shape man. Your diet sounds excellent. Too much meat is bad for you. I probably weighed about the same at your height. I'm 5'10" and 120 pounds and I'm one of the top runners on the cross country team. Be proud of your health. If your ribs are covered it should be by muscle, not fat. If you really want to gain some weight, though, consider some LIGHT weight training. If you lift too much at your age you will injure yourself. Push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, etc. are all great. If you want to increase your hunger for whatever reason you need to increase your daily needs by exercising more.
