i know a sprained ankle isnt as serious as a broken bone and all, but i recently had a very unfun event happen on the trampoline.
sprained my ankle so bad i can move my toes, and swelling is crazy!
and suggestions on what i can do to help it besides pain meds and the stupid split thing i have to wear?

Ice is always good when you sprain something. And be sure to keep your weight off your ankle for a while too. Really what Kenzie said, although only take as many pain pills as advised by your doctor or the bottle, there's a reason for a restriction on the amount you can take. Oh, and I've also seen a few of my friends on sports teams and such use a product called "Bengay" which they say helps quite a bit with the pain. I hope you feel better!

Just to add one thing with what every one else is saying,

Use vicks and icy hot and massage the area, trust me ha

Actually, a lot of times, a sprain is worse than a break. But yeah. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Hopefully it feels better soon, cause sprains suck.

Even though it's starting to get better you still need to take it easy and baby that ankle. Don't go out jumping on trampolines or playing any running sports for a little while. Right now that ankle is still a lot weaker than it normally is and still needs some tender care.

Be really careful with it. Last year I made the mistake of playing volleyball on a sprained ankle and it caused me to break my foot, because my foot was weak from the sprain.

When you get your splint thing off wear an ankle brace. They make them for athletes. I screwed up my ankle in football and wear one now.

Ice, compression, IBprofen? (spelling) reduces the swelling, pain killers, just keep off it.

I don't know why but they recently took compression off RICE and changed it to comfort, probably from people killing their foot from compressing too much :/ lol :)
