Oh no! We only have a month to live! In all seriousness, what do you guys think? Will the world really end next month?

i don't know. but if it does happen, we won't have any twinkies to stay on the shelves for years to come after the "world ends"

I think I'll rent the movie 2012 and see if it happens play by play. :P

(In all serious, I doubt anything will happen, we are like a month away and the hipe died out months ago, weirdly enough.)

God, or natural disasters, don't work on a man made calendar.

No, it's just a bunch of bullshit.

The end of the world has been predicted many times before, and we're still here.
So there is no reason to believe the world actually will end this time.
It's just a bunch of bullshit that the people who promote it make money off of.

The world will NOT end, there will be a 2013.

The world will NOT end, there will be a 2013.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you can't be sure of that.It can happen soooo many things, and there might not be actually 2013 at all :)

Aliens may come and kill us all, some horrific natural disaster might happen, war which would f*ck up the whole planet, and so on.

It will end...it's just matter of time. But probably not in our lifetime.

Remember the rapture back in like April or May? They even had billboards to repent, the end was neigh and such? I remember going for a walk in the park with my boyfriend.

I feel like once December hits and it gets closer to the date, the craizes are going to hop on top of fountains and start their rampage. That'll scare the weak people who will then scurry to either kill themselves or try and take refugee. We'll probably have some major crime in them doing what they want before they think the world ends.
I honestly don't think we will end on the 21st.

The world will end when it will end. And when it does end, it will be quick and easy. I even found a song for any of you who actually think 2012 will happen.

No, the world will not end on December 21. A lot of New Age people have run around proclaiming that the end is near and the Mayan calendar predicted it and all that jazz, but that's just a bunch of hooey. It's the end of the 13th Baktun in the Mayan Calendar, and they act like it means the end of the world. Ask any Mayan expert and they will tell you that no, it doesn't mean the world will end in some giant ball of fire. The end of a baktun in the Mayan calendar is the equivalent of us needing to buy a new calendar at the end of the year each year. It's a bunch of people who have misconstrued historical fact and try and perpetuate that lie. So no, the world isn't going to end yet. It probably will eventually, all planets do, but I would place that date to be a few million years in the future, at the very least.

No. I can't wait to be sitting here on December 22nd. Laughing my ass off. And for anyone who uses the Mayan Calender. It already ended. Last year. As incredible as the Mayans were, they were not able to take account for the leap year. Being a 1/4 of a day off for all those centuries with nothing to make up for it has let there's behind. And we're still here people. WAKE UP FOR GOD's SAKE!!

Actually, that whole "The Mayans didn't account for a leap year so the end of the world really should have happened last year" thing is made up. The Mayans DID account for a leap year, their astronomical calculations were so advanced. However, as I said before, the end of a baktun DID NOT mean the end of the world. If it did, the world should have ended twelve times already. But no where in the Mayan heiroglyphs or codices or calculations did they ever mention anything about the world ending at the end of a baktun.

actually, they didn't. although their astronomical calculations were advanced, they did not know what a Leap year was. so how could they account for something that they had no idea about?

People have predicted the end if the world many times before, and they have all been wrong. I don't think the world will end next month. Theoretically, it could end, but that seems exceedingly unlikely.

I doubt the World will end in 2012. Firstly, there are great misconceptions upon the presentation of the Mayan Calender. I believe the mark near the 2012 point is to signify the end of a specific period which is attributed to the beliefs of the Mayan society. A new period will start, based on their observations.

Besides, should the World end at such a sudden state, there would already be patterns forming. Slight tremors occuring, or maybe inconsistent and great changes in the temperature by the hours - didn't happen.

It's very unlikely such an event of great impact and of natural orgin would happen without any signs of disturbance.

I dont think its going to happen because the same guy who "found" this or predicted it also said the world would end in 2000 on new years with the big computer failure, 6-6-2006, 11-11-2011, and 12-21-12, so ya. He is untrustworthy, a complete lune and its not worth spending time trying to stop it. If it is the apocalypse then everyone will die. None of those bunkers will help

That was a joke for those who were planning on starting a political argument out of my joke... seriously people, chill and laugh at the joke u read. U will like it :p

In all honesty, I don't know.

I think it can't just end on a specific date, however i'm very skeptical due to all the conspiracy behind it. Did you know the American government are building underground bases, tunnels and using old missile silos as homes for the wealthy, it's all in 'Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura'. I guess it's all preperations just in case.

Don't quote me though, just what i've seen

I've now seen TWO places where you source that show. Come ON. Conspiracy theorists are to be believed? Rational thinking anyone?

of course they had the correct amount of DAYS but if it were to be read as a MODERN CALENDER, then it would be incorrect, but it has the same amount of days. i never said anything about the number of days, i just said they did not now of the "leap year" thus they couldn't arrange it so it included the leap year. but they got the correct number of days. but personally, i am pretty sure the world is not going to end like this. because think of all the other end of the world conspiracy theories.

You didn't get it, did you? There are the exact same number of days, and so the date would be correct - they just count days in different ways.

What's with the conspiracy theories here lately? They're entirely bogus, but what irks me the most is that they are called theories, as if they have some evidence that can not be explaned without a conspiracy. They do not.

According to the Mayan calendar, it'll be more like 8012 when that happens. Or later than that probably. I think earlier though. The earth will be destroyed by then due to the recklessness of humanity.

The thing is, Mayan's did not have leap years so technically if the world were to end it would have ended 7 months ago. Sorry to break it to you but I strongly believe the world will stay the same as it always has done.

The Mayans did not calculate the fact that every 4 years a day is added in the month of February.

That's why we should have died some time ago, not on December 21st

Pepito
November 25th, 2012, 01:24 PM
When 2012 started everyone was like "OMG we`re gonna die this year!". We`re in November now, less than a month away and no-one gives a shit. I find that quite funny.

Anyway, I don`t think the world will end (not in our lifetime anyway). What the Mayans might have ment by the end of the world is not literally a huge explosion or disaster that would blow up the planet, but a WW3 or a big change in the way people see the world.

i DO get it. i explained that i knew that they have the correct number of days, but not in the order of a calender containing the concept of a "leap year"
i love reading conspiracy theories, just because they are fun to read.
